Mr. Li entered the class, he tapped the stick he brought on the board, getting the attention of the class

linong was about to stand up and greet when Mr. Li motioned him to stop, "i have a very important announcement to make, so please listen attentively"

the class nodded as they wait for Mr. Li to continue, "the science project about the pets will be cancelled"

half of the class cheered by the sudden announcement but also some were sad, especially dora, she thought she could spend more time with ling chao if the project was continued

"it will be cancelled because of some circumstances that occur during the said project, don't worry, there will be an alternative one", the students groaned, hoping they didn't hear what Mr. Li just said

"i don't want the another project to be a torture again", ling chao muttered, rolling his eyes

Mr. Li laughed by the class' reactions, "don't worry, it will be easy this time. you just need to choose a person in this room that you wanted to know more about his/her life but.."

meiqi and quanzhe eyed each other, as if they are talking through their eyes on who to choose, "the person you chose must not know that you chose him/her as your subject"

the whole squad immediately eyed yankai, gaining a confused look from the guy, "what? did i do something wrong?"

they awkwardly smiled and shook their heads, turning their heads to see Mr. Li again

"did you understand, class?" Mr. Li eyed the room for some reactions, a group of students from the third column shook their heads

chengcheng sighed, "what a group of dumb people", zuo ye agreed, "it's an easy instruction tho"

Mr. Li nodded, "so, for example Zhong Chenle chose Li Chunhua as the person he wants to know more about- wait where is she, by the way?"

no one dared to answer from the squad, especially ling chao but yankai raised his hand to answer, "it's confidential, we're sorry"

maotong gasped as he turned his head to see yankai, "is he serious?"

zhenghao tapped maotong's shoulder from the back, "i'm certain, he knows something we don't know"

Mr. Li eyed him weirdly and nodded, "well okay. so, Chenle chose Li Chunhua right? she must not know that he is currently observing her because if she does then Chenle will be having de-merits from his grades"

some of the students finally understood, "but how can you give us de-merits?" chenle asked, confused

"if you knew the person observing you, you can tell me straight ahead but once he or she passes her work with infos about the person he or she observed and you're not the one they observed but you assumed then it will be a de-merit for you"

the students nodded as some of them observed the classroom, looking for persons as their subject, "if you don't have any questions then class dismissed"

Mr. Li walked out of the room as the bell rang, signifying lunch for the students

the whole squad gathered at the center table of the cafeteria, the student council even joined them in their table, gaining attention from the people around

justin approached his sister and whispered, "jie, mama wants to tell you something later. you need to go home early"

meiqi nodded, "how about you?", justin smiled as he scratched his nape, "we need to finish the preparation for the intrams but we'll follow"

"all of you?" meiqi squinted her eyes, justin nodded, "yep, and i don't even know why so don't ask me"

justin turned his back to his older sister and went to sit beside wenjun, chengcheng and quanzhe went to sit beside meiqi, bringing their own food tray with them

meiqi cleared her throat, "are we complete?"

zuo ye shook his head, "linong, zhenghao, and yankai are not here yet"

"zhenghao will not be joining us for today" maotong stated as he munched the bread

"YANKAI! SIT WITH US!" chengcheng screamed, yankai flinched and approached them, "are you sure? you are with your other friends"

zhengting smiled, "it's okay, everyone is welcome to our circle of friends"

yankai nodded as he slowly placed his food tray on the table and sat beside maotong

linong approached the squad with an unknown guy beside him, "hello guys! this is Zhong Chenle, a far relative from South Korea, he is a new student. please be good to him"

"nice to meet you!" everyone greeted while meiqi giggled, "you're so cute!", quanzhe immediately stared at meiqi and frowned

chenle smiled, "thank you", linong and chenle sit beside yankai and placed their food trays on the table

"it runs in the blood" linong joked as he picked up the bread, accidentally hitting his arm to yankai's shoulder, feeling electrified by the sudden contact

"i'm sorry" linong turned his head to see yankai, only to see his eyes changing from blue back to its normal color

"it's okay, continue to eat" yankai smiled as if nothing happened, linong panicked as he immediately stood up and ran

"where is he going?" zeren asked as he eyed the tall boy, the whole squad looked at linong who just exited the school's cafeteria

yankai shrugged, "he'll come back later, i guess"

the whole squad nodded as they all continue to eat

linong finally arrived to an unknown place of the school, he opened the door and saw Mr. Zhang talking to Qian Zhenghao

"is this why he's not eating with us?" linong thought as he stared at them for more than 10 seconds until Mr. Zhang spoke, bringing him back to reality

"what brings you here, linong?"

linong sighed, "is yankai part of your clan?"

zhenghao gasped, "i was about to ask him about that too!"

Mr. Zhang opened a thick book and showed us a picture of a baby, "he was a member of my clan"

"what do you mean he WAS?" zhenghao asked

"had you experienced something weird too, linong? just like zhenghao?" Mr. Zhang asked, changing the topic

linong knew when Mr. Zhang changed a topic, they can't go back to that topic ever again

"i just had a physical contact with yankai, i felt electrified and saw his eyes changing from blue back to its normal color. what does it mean?"

Mr. Zhang sighed, "he acquired your power already"

zhenghao dropped his jaws, "does that mean-"

"yep, you get what i mean", Mr. Zhang closed the book, "you may leave now"
