chapter 7

Mari

The party ended late, about 1am, but I wasn't tired, I was too happy to be tired! Pepper went to bed and I was alone with my father in the bar area. I wasn't drinking, obviously. Dad has literally no idea about my long term relationship with alcohol, and I think it's better this way!

-did you enjoyed the party, blossom?- he asks me, with a smile

-I loved it, dad! Everything was perfect!

-Aren't you going to say the magic words?

-what?

-You know what I'm talking about! C'mon, it starts with T!

-Thank you?

-Wrong. It was "Tony, you're awesome", but I'll pretend you said that!- he plays, and I laugh a little

-Happy to know you enjoyed the party- he continues- but this is not my birthday gift to you!

I look at him surprised. The party was truly amazing, how could it be better?

-you may be thinking, "wow, daddy! This party was so awesome! It can't get better than that! Bla bla bla, some teenage stuf!"- the way he copied my voice made me laugh even more. But the question is, how the hell does he know what I was thinking?! - And now you may be wondering how do I know what was you thinking, and the answer is, like I said before, I'm awesome. So, back to your birthday gift, I'm gonna give you a trip! Some free vacation, for two weeks! Your clothes are already there, so you don't have to worry about your baggage!

-Are you kidding me, right?!- I can't contain my happiness- Where am I going? London? Hawaii?

-No- I hear Thor's voice coming from behind me- You are going to Asgard!

We go to the tower terrace, the warm wind subtly moves some strands of my hair. I look at my dad and focus on his expression, he is clearly worried, and I can't blame him! Asgard is another planet, not another city!
I give some steps closer to him and kiss his cheek.

-Thank you, dad! Thank you for everything! Don't worry about me, I'll be safe with Thor!-  he smiles at me, but I know he is still a bit worried. My dad isn't very good in hiding his emotions!

-You deserve that, blossom! For a kid you do some spectacular work! Now go enjoy your trip! I know you always wanted to visit Asgard!

I smile and hug him, he normally wouldn't let me visit another planet. Actually, I think no parent in Earth would!

Thor makes me a sign to get closer to him, and that's what I do.

-Hold on tight, tiny mortal!-he gives me his arm with a lovely smile and I hold it.- Heimdall?- Thor calls- Open the bridge!

Some seconds later I see everything colorful. It's like I was inside a rainbow! My feet no longer touch the ground and I feel like I'm in a roler coaster!
I close my eyes for a second and suddenly we are in a golden round room where I see a man holding a sword. I assume that ths is Heimdall, the guardian of the bifrost!
Thor used to tell me wonderful stories about him, about his home and his people, and I must admit I loved all of them! That's why I know a lot about Heimdall and a lot about Asgard! I can't describe how happy I am to finally be here! This is my dream since I was nine!

-Welcome to Asgard, Mari!- Heimdall says, looking at me.
