'Kookie is calling.'

If it had been anyone else disturbing her precious nap, Eury would have barked at them to fuck off. Since it's Jungkook, she holds in her frustration and lets out a deep breath, answering the phone and trying to sound like she hasn't just spent the whole day sleeping.

"So we've been on a total of five dates." Jungkook says, not even giving Eury a chance to even say hello.

She furrows her brows in confusion before nodding slowly, even though she knows he can't see her.

"Hello to you too Kookie, and yes, we have. And we've fucked after all of them." She snickers, stretching her arms to feel more awake.

The clock above the TV says that it's five in the afternoon, and she holds in the urge to groan. That means she only has an hour left before Jimin and Taehyung would arrive, and she's in no mood to listen to them fuck for hours (even if they ask her to join.)

"So..." Jungkook's voice brings her attention back to her phone.

"So...?" Eury scratches her head impatienly. "Where are you going with this, Kookie?"

"So what are we?" He finally manages to cough out, and immediately Eury can imagine how he looks on the other end: blushing, maybe a little sweaty.

She sees right through his cocky façade, and she knows that underneath it, he's an adorably shy mess.

"Well... are you seeing anyone else?" She asks as she twirls a finger through her hair.

"No!" Jungkook cries out almost before she can finish her question. "Are... are you?"

"Of course not, just you." She chuckles to herself. 'As if I have the time to see more than one guy.'

"Really? So... how come I only ever see you at night?"

'Fuck,' Eury thought, panicking as she bit her lip. 'Think of an excuse. Fuck! What am I supposed to say? Oh, I'm a vampire and the minute I step out into the sun, we'll probably be having barbeque instead of ramen. How about that? Fuck. Fuck!'

"Babe?"

"Ah, sorry!" She laughs nervously as she tries her best to keep her cool. "I actually... have classes during the day. I dropped out when I was younger so now I'm back in school, trying to finish up where I left off. Sorry I didn't tell you, I was kind of embarassed."

It isn't all a lie. The dropping out part is true, but the finishing up part? Not so much. After you've been turned into a vampire and are forced to kill people in order to survive, school seems like too much work, and a waste of time. It's not like she doesn't have forever to finish her studies, anyway.

"You didn't have to hide it from me... I think it's good that you're going back. It's nice that you care about your education so much."

Eury winces at his sweet response, guilt forming a knot in her stomach. She hates lying to him, but she knows that it's the only way she can keep him safe.

"Anyway!" She tries desperately to change the subject, "How about tonight? Are you passing by the café?"

Now it's Jungkook's time to lie. Rubbing the back of his neck, he remembers that Namjoon had told him about the increase of vampire activity in a certain area that was once untouched by those filthy freaks.

His leader wasn't sure of how many there were within the area, but Jungkook knows that it's a place that's far from The Daily Grind, and he knows he probably isn't going to make it in time to see her.

"I'll try," He says, "but I'm not sure. My boss... gave me a new assignment, and I don't know how long it's going to take."

Not exactly a lie... not exactly the entire truth, either.

"Oh! Okay... I might just go out tonight, then. I'll see you tomorrow?"

He smiles, looking down at his phone. A picture of the two of them smile back at him, with Eury's naked form wrapped lovingly around him like a koala.

He's so lucky.

"Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow, jagiya."

After hanging up, Jungkook starts to prepare for his mission. He puts on a thick padded vest under his sweater, shoving stakes and extra bullets in it. He then grabs his pistol- his mother's, given to him before she passed away- and presses a kiss to where his mother's initials were engraved, then slides it into place in his belt.

"You're taking forever."

Jungkook turns towards the door and sticks his tongue out at his partner before walking over to his closet, sifting through his jackets.

"Stop being so dramatic, hyung, I'm almost done. I just need my..."

'Fuck.'

"Your...?" Yoongi moves towards the younger boy with his arms crossed. He raises a brow as he watches Jungkook seem to grow more and more panicked. "What's wrong?"

"I can't find my whistle." He mutters, pressing his hands against his pockets.

That whistle is one of the first items his father had ever given him for vampire hunting. It emits a sound that can't be heard because of how high its pitch is, but is extremely painful for vampire ears.

Over his many years of hunting, Jungkook has relied heavily on that whistle, because it easily helps him spot those monsters from a mile away. Without it, what is he supposed to do?

"You'll be fine without it, Kook. We have to go. The sun's going down."

With one last glance at his closet, Jungkook nods and follows behind his partner.
