I uploaded another chapter so you guys don't have to wait and you can get an idea of the story so far! I hope you guys enjoy!
I'll try to add small recaps!
Recap:
"I'm Ochako Uraraka and you're Nakamura, right?""Yes, Rilee Nakamura, it's a pleasure to meet you."
After our quick mutual introduction, Uraraka and I conversed about the tests we took and how we had performed. I had told her that the specifics of my quirk are hard to explain. I just revealed the basics to her.
We arrived back inside the school to change our uniforms. When I notice Uraraka conversing with our female classmates. I made my way to the exit of the school.
I was slouching with exhaustion from my emotions running all over the place. I wish the one person who could make me tranquil more than anything wasn't with me... Inugami-sensei . She would always treat me to a bowl of ramen from the Ramen Shop on our street as a job well-done.
"Maybe I'll make some when I get home." I composed my fatigue posture and start reminiscing what kind of ramen I should make.
"Hey Nakamura!" I heard a familiar voice calling that cut my train of thought. I turned to see Uraraka waving her hand in the air and two other classmates with her coming my way.
"Oh, hey Uraraka..." I greeted plainly due to my tiredness.
"Are you doing alright now?" She seemed concerned but it took me a while to comprehend what she meant.
"Oh about our scores!" I finally recalled, "Yeah, sorry you had to see me like that but I'm good."
"Also um..." I lingered blankly staring behind her to see two boys, "Midoriya and Iida, am I right?" I pointed at each of them.
Uraraka finally caught on, "Oh sorry! This is Deku! I mean-" she tried to correct herself.
"That's okay, Uraraka!" Midoriya face turned red while with a goofy smile and turned to make eye contact with me, "Yes, I'm Izuku Midoriya".
"And I'm Tenya Iida" he introduced almost robotic like which made me giggle. I finally gave a small smile.
"I'm Rilee Nakamura, nice to meet you both." I introduced but then looking at Midoriya, I remembered about his finger.
"Midoriya, does your finger still hurt?"
"Huh? Oh no, Recover Girl fix it right up!" he overstated and showed his bandaged finger and grinned to show me to not worry about it.
"Oh...alright then..." I was still troubled. I thought maybe I could help by reversing our physical wellness, "that's good to hear. I-I'll be on my way then. I'll see you guys tomorrow."
I was about to take my leave and return to my ramen conflict decisions until Iida spoke up.
"We were on our way to the stations, if you live far from the school, would you like to join us, Nakamura?"
"...Okay sure" I hesitated. I don't know why I signed on but...I thought it might feel less lonely for a bit.
We started to make our way to the stations to catch the train.
"Um, Nakamura, may I ask...what is your quirk?" Midoriya asked nervously while not making eye contact, as if trying not to step on my foot or something.
"Yeah! I was wondering that too?!" Both Iida and Uraraka said simultaneously while really getting up in my personal space.
"Oh, my quirk is Opposite." I plainly answered.
"Opposite of what?" Midoriya asked another question. It took me by surprise, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"What?! Did I say something weird?" Midoriya started to freak out. I, on the other hand, laughed harder. I had to walk slowly so I could catch my breath. It warmed me up a little to laugh again.
"I think she means her quirk has the opposite effect when it is activated." Iida had explained.
"By touching another person physically, I can use what's theirs, but the other person can't use what's theirs for 5 minutes." It was always hard to explain my quirk.
Midoriya nodded his head while staring at me but I could see he was still lost.
"I like to call it 'borrowing a person's quirk'. Like, today's 50-Meter Dash" Midoriya made a gloomy face when I brought it up, "before it was my turn to run, I touched Iida's shoulder so I could 'borrow' his speed from his quirk. I can also combine it with my strength to add a little more kick to it!"
"But how is it opposite?" At this point, Midoriya had taken out a notebook to write a few things down but I didn't think much of it.
"Well I'm not physically fast, so when I touched Iida's body..." while I described this part, Iida was blushing for some apparent reason while securing his glasses. Uraraka was trying extremely hard not to laugh at Iida for another reason, I just didn't understand.
"I use the command 'reverse' to activate my quirk and I get speed for 5 minutes. But Iida's not able to use it for the time being."
"So that's how you knew I was going 3rd gear on the 50-Meter Dash." Iida professed, "you felt how much faster I could have gone."
"Yeah...sorry, that's why I always thank the person I borrow the quirks from afterwards. Even if they don't realize it" I smiled embarrassingly, a sweat drop going down my forehead.
"Wow!" Uraraka jumped in loudly, "That's an awesome quirk to have!"
"But I have my weaknesses too, like I can only borrow one quirk at a time, if I touch another person while I'm still borrowing the other, I still remain with the first quirk." I further explained, "Also the more I borrow the same quirk from the same individual, it weakness that person's quirks...which I don't enjoy ever doing."
I want to reveal about my abilities of helping someone in physical need by exchanging their injuries for my health...I better not...
"Heh, you're really a nice person, Nakamura." Midoriya gave me an innocent smile. I was taken back by that remark, but I just returned his smile with one of my own.
However, once the three started talking among themselves. I just stared at the floor of the train while replaying Midoriya's comment in my head, "...Am I...nice?" I then looked down in silence to cover my expression of guilt.
I finally made it home, alone, before the sun had set. I did my usual routine of cleaning, cooking, and preparing for the next day, then showering. I was exhausted mentally and physically by the time sleep came around. Fortunately, there was no homework assignment on the first day of school. So, it was still slightly early but I had gotten into bed anyways with the lamp on. I was thinking one by one about all my classmates and their quirks. My mind also drifted to the three individuals who I had walked home with today. I didn't notice my drowsiness had taken over.
In the middle of the night, my eyes had shot open when I heard my email notification ringtone playing loudly on the nightstand where it was charging.
"I guess I fell asleep..." I said out loud to no one. While lamp stayed on, I simply grabbed my cellphone to look at the subject of the email titled "Please Open Me". I did as I was told.
The first thing I notice was the unforeseen photo attachment that was sent. My eyes had widened in complete horror.
For the third time that night, the terrifying emotions that triggered my tears had come pouring down like a running faucet.
It was a picture of Inugami-sensei bound unconscious body, chained to the wall with severe bruises and wounds from head to toe.
"How was your first day of school, Rilee?" was what the message read.
