CAMILA CABELLO.

my knees curled up towards my chest, propping up my leather journal filled with thousands of ideas and lyrics. cinnamon and wax swirled around my best friend's apartment, making me sneeze uncontrollably for some odd reason. through the small crack of the curtains, orange light created a spot light on the curly headed boy sitting a few front feet in front of me in the same position as i.

i began tapping my pencil, that clearly had been sharpened too much, leaving only a few inches for my fingers to grasp, on the journal in front of me. we had been sitting in the same position in complete silence for the past few hours trying to write.

i began to shift my weight on the grey, velvet bean bag i sat on, trying to find a new position. after multiple failed attempts of me trying every position possible, i let out a loud sigh, slumping down into the bean bag.

i could hear a faint laughter from shawn.

i brought myself up, connecting eyes with the canadian boy in front of me, a soft smile plastered across his face. "are you finding amusement out of my misery?" i provoked, raising an eyebrow.

shawn raised his hands in defense. "i would never provoke the camila cabello." he joked, adding an emphasis on, the.

i grabbed the nearest item next to me, a book, and threw out his head. he dodged the book swiftly, looking back at me in shock.

"don't mock me, mendes." i advised

"note taken."

i rised from the bean bag, walking over towards the kitchen isle where i blew out the trio of candles in one blow and then opened the fridge, grabbing two bottles of water.

"why'd you blow out the candles?"

"did you not hear me sneeze 5 times in the matter of one second?" i said, a look of annoyance spread across my face.

"of course i did, it was adorable."

my cheeks flushed a bright red, my heart skipping a beat as i tossed the water bottle to him. i made my way back to the bean bag, ignoring his comment. my cheeks still heated up, heart racing just as fast.

shawn took a swig of the frosty water bottle, his neck veins popping out. this boy really did have muscles everywhere, places i didn't even know exist.

i scanned shawn's apartment as opened up his journal, beginning to jot down ideas again. my brain was fried from the previous hours of writing. i truly never understood how he could write multiple songs in the span of a day and they still sounded amazing.

my eyes went from the wall of frames of his family and friends, me included to the stack of tea unopened tea boxes to the CN tower you could see from the balcony and then to him. a single chocolate curl fell in front of his face, his hazel eyes illuminated by the setting sun behind him, and the little scar under his left eye you could only spot if you examined his face for a long time which is exactly what I was doing.

"what are you staring at?" shawn asked, breaking me out of my daze.

i shook my head. "oh, nothing."

he gave me a weak smile before digging his head back into his journal.

i let out a low sigh, sinking back into the bean bag below me.

i was in love with my best friend and i couldn't tell him. the thing is, i don't know why.
