The three of them stayed like that until the doctor had come inside of the room for a check up, then they would go and get food. They refused to let Jack be alone in this hour of need. Anything could happen while no one was in the room.
Both Felix and Mark made themselves comfortable in two chairs on the right side of the bed where Jack never moved. They watched as his breathing slowly slowed back into his state; after Mark interaction Jack just slowly started to 'wake.' Jack would twitch every once in a while, but strange things would happen when he did. Light bulbs would go out, lamps would explode, lights flickered, TV's turned on and off. But no one would notice as it only happen once in a while. Other than the weird flickering everything seemed quiet.
Every once in a while the nurse would come and give Jack his medication then she would leave. No one would come to visit Jack or any of them, not even Jack's girlfriend came to visit him. It was all too quiet so the two boys made camp and they lived in that hospital for the next few weeks. Felix would go out every once in a while to get food or a game to play, but mostly the two men just watched TV or played on their phones. Mark refused to leave Jack's beside; he hadn't gotten out of that very room since he entered.
"Hey boys," one of the nurses walked in holding a silver stray with a puncture needle and a few viles. The nurse was an older lady with tanned skin, she packed in the stomach but over all was sweet and caring. Based on her accent she was Mexican but it was light so it was hard to tell. She gave them both a smile before settling herself on a stool.
"Just need draw some blood," the nurse said before hooking up the needle to a plastic tube. She grabbed the vile and placed it in the plastic compartment. She flicked the tip of the needle to get all air bubbles out before walked around to the side of the bed. The nurse was about to insert the needle into Jack's skin but a flicker of electricity stopped her. She looked around before shrugging and barely touched Jack's skin with the needle when green electricity swerved above the needle. The green light stopped before the needle exploded and sent the nurse flying into the air and landing by the door. She quickly got up while the two men froze in shock.
"El Diablo!" The women screamed as she bolted from the room and down the hall screaming El Diablo as she ran in terror. Abruptly, Jack back arched and his body gave a heave. Mark and Felix both jumped back, giving him room the breathe. Mark hoped that Jack was waking up from his sleep but it faded into confusion as Jack's monitor started going rabid. His monitor read that his heartbeat was going 10 beats per second on the screen. Jack heart was beating too rapidly. It could kill him. Mark looked around for a emergency button on the wall somewhere but there wasn't any. Felix couldn't move, his body was frozen from shock. Jack's eyelids opened but his ice blue eyes were clouded with white. Something was wrong, Mark panicked and both men could only watch Jack having a seizure like act.
Mark noticed that Felix was shaking, not from crying, but from fear. Jack mouth opened like a fish underwater trying to eat its food. Jack's physical features began to change dramatically, his whole body seemed to lift up from the bed from how much he arched his back. Jack's hair began to turn a dark green. It started from the tips of his locks and spread like wildfire down to his roots. Wildly, Jack's eyes began to fade into a pitch black, his canine teeth began to grow to a point. Jack was beginning to look more like a fairy tale creature than he did himself. Mark shakily grabbed Felix by the collar of his shirt and tried to control his breathing before speaking.
"G-Get the d-doctor, now." Felix nodded and sprinted out the door faster than Mark could comprehend. Jack began to start forming scars around his face and especially his neck. His neck had a deep gash where it looked like someone was cutting it open. Thick black liquid spit from the open cut from Jack's neck as it pooled at his pillow. A cracked chuckling escaped Jack body as his body relaxed. His body laid on the sheets for only a moment before sitting up. Jack's right black eye started to glow green until a circular iris appeared inside the cool blackness. Jack's body breathed in before looking down at his hands in surprise. Jack wiggled his feet and giggled as he saw the sheets moved where his toes were. Mark stared, shocked that Jack was moving and laughing again. Though, something told Mark that Jack wasn't himself anymore. He was beginning to wonder were Felix was until the door slammed open and Dr. Hamilton and Felix rushed in dramatically. The doctor stared at the sudden changes that hopefully Felix had mentioned to him. Jack and the three men stared at each other with confusion, though judging from Jack's reaction he looked more relieved than confused.
"Good," Jack exclaimed with his Irish accent deeper than Mark remembered it being. Jack popped his neck by twirling it in a circular motion and looked over at Mark smiling with his 'fangs' showing. Mark gave Jack a look that showed how terrified he was but Jack just ignored everyone as he looked around the hospital.
"Looks like I was the first one here," Jack brushed his shoulders with his hands before grabbing the I.V and pulled it out of his arm. He took off his monitor and yawned then stretched his arms over his head. The three men looked at him confused but mostly scared when he stepped out of his bed. Jack looked worried until he looked at his reflection in the TV and laughed.
"Oops," Jack giggled and his left eye turned back into a natural blue but his right eyes stayed a vibrant green. His fangs retracted into normal teeth but his hair stayed a Christmas tree green.
"Better?" Jack questioned, lifting his arms to his sides as if to say 'tada.' Felix and the doctor stood frozen, too afraid to make contact with Jack while he was in this state. Mark was the first to step up to Jack and try to get some answers for himself.
"Jack, h-how did y-you l-learn to do that?" Jack shook his head then giggled again, menacingly.
"I'm not Jack silly. I'm Anti," Mark didn't seemed shocked more confused as to why Jack would play a prank like this on his friends. Then it was Mark's turn to laugh while everyone stared at him like he was crazy. Mark clutched his gut as he began to laugh to hard and his laugh turned into more like a whistle. Mark pointed at Jack and gave up on his laugh.
"You got me man, that was one hell of a prank." Mark punched Jack's shoulder but nobody was laughing, everyone but Mark knew it wasn't a joke. Jack gave him a glare, one that could kill if it could. But Mark kept chuckling not noticing how green Jack began to turn. His eyes twitch black, then his head cracked to the side and his body glitched. Jack look like a frozen computer program with his glitch but when he snapped back into place he had pitch black eyes and his jaw clenched in anger. The warning never came, even with the signs that Jack wasn't himself. Mark never noticed his glitching, as he was still laughing, which was his mistake. Jack glitch once and he had beamed three feet and into Mark face. His large hands went onto his throat and clenched it. Jack thrust his arm forward so Mark hit the wall behind him, and he pinned him there. Jack got into Mark face and looked into his maple orbs as Mark looked into his pitch black galaxy.
"I'm not Jack!" He hissed pinning Mark roughly to the wall. Mark gasped for air that was being pushed out of his body. He scratched Anti's wrists for him to let go but he wouldn't budge.
"Be sure to remember, Mark!" Anti spat Mark's name out then threw the man to floor as if he weighed nothing. As he heaved in air Anti's eyes glitched back to his blue and green orbs and he smiled widely, in a child like way. Anti knelt down to tap Mark on the butt before jumping over to the door.
"Tag you're it!" Mark looked up at Felix and he shrugged in return before glancing at the horrified doctor. Anti had sprinted out the door and out to the rest of the hospital.
