Lizards vs Drifters

Chapter Four

Rico bent down to check on the girl who was crying silently now, but also shaking with fear. He barely reached out to gently touch her skin as she flinched away, but looked up to see Rico standing there with no bruises on him, but all the guys on the ground behind him. He helped her up off the ground as he walked her over to his car as she slowly stepped into it and watched him climb into the other side. As he started to car up, sirens filled the streets as it echoed everywhere. Rico turned off the car and hid down into the seats to see the girl facing away from him. He thought about what to do, when he decided to talk to her.

"My name is Rico. What is your name?" asked Rico as he reached out to her again and slid his hand up and down her back.

"My n.....name is Gabby Garcia. Why s...save me?" asked Gabby.

"Because you needed help. And I could hear you calling for help for some reason. I will take you to my school so you can change into some clothes, then if you want to have a place to stay, I'll take you home with me." said Rico as he hid his face from a cop speeding down the road.

"Sure I would like that. One more question. Why are we hiding from the cops? I thought they were the good guys." said Gabby.

"They have been after my crew and I for our cars. I'm only a senior in high school, and they think I stole these cars. If they were to find us, you have to trust me alright." said Rico as he looked at Gabby.

"I trust you more than anyone right now. You saved me. I will be by your side with anything you do." said Gabby.

"Alright, let's get out of here. I think it's cle... Never mind. Let's just get out of here now." said Rico as he hit the gas pedal going straight for a blockade.

"Watch out Rico!" yelled Gabby as Rico turned the wheel real hard to the left as they came stretching up to next to the blockade.

"Well well well. If it isn't the little drifter from hell. You are under arrest for stealing this car, and kidnapping this young girl. Get out of out of that damn car, and put your hands behind your back." said the officer as he pulled his gun.

"How about you make me get out of this car pig." said Rico as he locked the doors.

"You little punk! Get out of that goddamn car you little bastard." said the officer as more cops came up.

"Make me you pig. You can't catch me." said Rico as he took off with cops chasing after him.

Now Rico was trying to stay a step ahead of the cops with Gabby in his car trying to figure out what just happened. All she saw was Rico talking to the cops, then taking off with cops after him. She looked at his dashboard to the his speed limit over seventy miles per hour. She started to get scared, but before she could go back into her little ball again, Rico grabbed her hand, and looked at her with a look of determination. She suddenly felt safe with Rico as he raced through the town with several police cars behind him. The roads started to get smaller as he had to drift in oncoming traffic and through the red lights just to keep away from the cops from stopping him.

Every time he drifted through a red light, Gabby would grab his hand and squeeze it tightly as he got them out of the way from getting hurt, unlike the cops that got hit, and made huge accidents. Rico saw a helicopter flying above him, and knew that it was a news chopper filming all this for a news report later. He then thought about going by the school, and hiding his car at the garage. He turned onto the highway so he could get there faster before he saw a bunch of cops coming at him with intense speed and force. The police made a tight blockade in the highway that would kill anyone who tried to ram through it, but Rico noticed a piece of the side missing where a car could jump down to the bottom.

He knew it was risky, but the school was right underneath the jump, so if he hit it just right, there would be a possibility where he could land on the street in front of the school. It was a risky move, but he had knowing else to do. He turned on his radio to listen about the new report about this crazy driver going through the city causing hell. Rico stopped his car as he looked over at Gabby who wondered what he will do/

"Gabby, do you trust me?" asked Rico as he reached out for her hand.

"Yes why do you ask?" asked Gabby as she looked into his eyes.

"Because I'm about to do something really crazy with a chance that I will not kill us both. I'm going to drive off the bridge to get away from the cops, but also to land in front of the school." said Rico as he looked away.

"If you believe you can make that jump then I say how about you try it. Just make sure you don't kill us." said Gabby as she winked at him.

"Well before I jump this, can I do something first?" asked Rico as he looked at her.

"I guess and what would that be?" asked Gabby.
