When Your Mind Shifts

(I was gonna be gone most of the day/night today and hadn't planned on updating, but that didn't happen (again), so here's the other half of the chapter I put out the other day.)

Almost an hour had passed before the door behind him finally swung open, making Austin flop onto his back with a surprised grunt. He quickly rolled over, then pushed himself up to his feet before stepping inside, not wanting to risk the door being shut in his face for a second time.

He slowly closed it behind himself, then followed Roh-Ahn's uncle to the living room, where he took a seat on a chair he'd pulled over from the small dining table to sit across from the sofa, where Roh-Ahn was currently waiting silently.

"Sit." Wan-Nu said, gesturing to the second chair at the table that had simply been turned around to face them. It was notably a bit further than usual from the sofa.

Without a word, Austin did as told, then crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned back slightly, meeting Wan-Nu's narrowed eyes as the man began speaking, his attention shifting between him and Roh-Ahn.

"I had very reluctantly encouraged you to take this trip because you were so excited to see another country and meet new people. I grew more hesitant when you mentioned that you were staying at a place that was upstairs, but you told me there was an elevator..."

Austin pursed his lips, trying his hardest not to tell the man to get the hell out of his apartment... and leave his nephew where he was.

"Now I come in, having been told that there is a spare key above the door for me, and see my nephew walking out of your room with disheveled hair, and you, with a shirt that is inside out and backwards."

Austin's eyes widened slightly as he looked down, noting that, indeed, his pure black shirt was inside out and backwards.

I hadn't seen it clearly in the darkness...

His eyes rose to Roh-Ahn's, noticing that his bad eye was dilated.

Had he been having trouble seeing then, too?

Pressing his fingers to his forehead, Austin felt a headache coming on.

"We didn't do anything besides sleep." He said.

Wan-Nu sighed, turning his attention to his nephew.

"I will fund a hotel for you to stay in during your time here, Roh-Ahn. If you need any assistance, I can also get you a personal nurse if you'd like."

Roh-Ahn opened his mouth to say something, but his uncle raised a hand, clearly not finished speaking.

"You have been here only a short time, yet you are already spending time in his room, and at least one of you was in a state of undress. I can understand if you two had been dating for a time, but after everything you've gone through, to do such a thing so quickly after meeting someone?"

Roh-Ahn seemed to shrink back into the couch, hunching his shoulders and ducking his head.

"We didn't do anything!" Austin shouted, beginning to lose his temper.

He doesn't deserve to be reprimanded for a decision he chose to make. You might be his uncle, but it's his choice.

Wan-Nu opened his mouth to talk again, but surprisingly, Roh-Ahn cut him off. His voice was a quiet, hesitant mumble, but he was determined to speak.

"We really didn't do anything, uncle. The air system turned off because of the storm and it got really hot. Austin probably just took his shirt off during the night and put it back on wrong when we heard you come in."
