"Baby girl, you're doing great. Now push! 1...2...3.... breathe, breathe...okay here comes a big one. Puuuuushhhhhh! Oh my goodness she is beautiful. She looks just like you honey with her long black hair and her brown eyes." I suddenly hear the alarm clock going off and realize that I'm stuck in a dream. I roll over to Maddison's side of the bed and smell her pillow. I miss her so much. I pick up the phone to call her and to make sure that she's having a safe trip. "Hey honey how's- she cut me off. "Law I had a accident but, everything is okay, the baby is fine I just have some broken ribs and I totaled my car." She explained. My heart raced faster and faster as she kept trying to tell me the details. "So you're fine? The baby is okay? And you totaled your car?" I asked again. "I'll just have to figure out how to get you another one, I'm going to be in a commercial with Jeep soon so they will definitely give me a deal on something baby-friendly. I hope that you're okay and if you need anything just give me a call. I have to go to practice but I'll call you as soon as I'm out and I love you and give the baby a rub and a kiss for me. Bye baby love." I said as I hung up the phone. Maddie and I met her freshman year of college, well basically, we met two years ago. She was the pretty cheerleader who had the long black hair and the pretty smile with the light brown eyes and the athletic body. I remember her locking eyes with me, smiling and waving at football practice one day. I kind of blushed and walked off because I didn't think I was the guy that she wanted. I seen the squares that lined up to watch her cheer and I definitely wasn't impressed. They didn't possess the swagger and dapperness of a real gentleman like myself. I vowed to talk to her that day after practice. As soon as I walked up to her and seen her face to face it was love at first sight. "Hey." I said shyly. "Hey I'm Maddison and I'm guessing you are Jackson?" She said all perky and happy. "Ha- Jackson's the last name sweetheart my name is Lawrence but everyone and they mama call me "Law." I said all confident. "Why do they call you Law?" She asked, seemingly interested. "Because, I bring justice to the field." I pridefully said. "Oh really is that so? Well if you're the Law then I'm speeding and I think justice needs to be served." She said twirling her pony tail around. At that moment Trey Songz played in my head and I didn't know how to react to that. So like the shy boy I was, I tried to back up and play it off but I ended up running right into the Gatorade table and busted through the whole gallon. It went up and came back down in the air and got us both soaking wet and very sticky. "MY HAIR!!!!!" Maddison screamed looking like a Brillo pad on steroids. "My uniform and my new Nike's!" I screamed back, mocking her. She then started to laugh, but not just any kind of laugh but, the laugh that makes a man stop dead in his tracks and wonder how someone could be so beautiful. I knew I loved her then and I knew I wanted her to be mines. "Miss ma'am?" I said to her. "Law you don't have to call me ma'am, haha!" She chuckled. "I know but you're a lady and I respect you. I just wanted to know if you were busy t—tonight?" I asked her stuttering. "If you're asking me on a date Law then the answer is.....I thought that you would never ask! I see you staring at me and watching to make sure I see you out on the field working hard and sweating and how you take off your shirt while I'm doing a pyramid so I can lose my balance or when you get some water and you never can finish the whole thing but, instead you let a little drip down your neck so you can get a little cooler or when you make a practice touchdown and you do that little shimmy dance and I see the sparkles in your eyes because you knew deep down that I was watching. I've been cheering for you for a while, yes I may be a cheerleader for the whole team. But, my cheers are for you, Law." She said and my heart exploded. At that moment I fell in love, and not the sappy kind where you feel the need to hug or kiss a person everyday but, the kind that lasts forever. The kind that your mama always warns you about. The kind that grandma says that papa gives to her. The kind that people my age are missing today. The kind that will call you in a rainstorm just to make sure you're okay, the one that will make sure you have food to eat and gas in your car but, most importantly a smile on your face. I didn't want to kiss her in that moment but, I wanted to take her hand and know all of her fears, and dreams and what keeps her up at night, if her parents are still together and what she looks for in a man. "Are you done with practice?" I ask her. She looked over at her teammates and shrugged her shoulders. "I guess, I mean they weren't doing anything anyways, it's too hot." She said and I grabbed her hand. "You want a ice cream cone? There's a food truck." She nodded and we went over and got us two cones and sat on the bench. We talked until it was dark outside and then she laid in my arms and we counted the stars. "It's getting late, maybe I should walk you to your dorm." I tell her and she agreed. As we approach her room, she wrapped her arms around me and thanked me for a good night. Every since that day, we have been inseparable. I truly found my best friend. We soon moved in together after that and I plan to propose to her as soon as she gets back. But, it's still a surprise. We are also expecting a baby in six months and she wanted to be married before then. I will do anything to make her happy and if having a family is what she wants then it will be my goal to give it to her. I'm thankful for Maddison and all of her support that she's given me. I will make her my wife because, she was truly made for me and I don't want anyone else but her.
