Chapter 2

Kawaii~chan sat crying in the corner. Everyone had had such a fun time, until Kawaii~chan heard people making fun of her. Travis made comments on how she was too 'pinky' and 'enthusiastic'. Then Laurence, Garroth, and Dante started making fun of her voice and the way she talked. They didn't know Kawaii~chan had heard them, so she slipped away and hid in a corner outside. There, she started to cry softly. But then she cried louder, and she wished she would stop. Then, Kawaii~chan heard a voice outside the front door. "Hold on, I need some air." Zane stepped out, closing the door quickly behind him. Kawaii~chan hushed herself, nervously. He sat down in the steps and breathed to himself. He must have been thinking about something because his face was concentrated. Or at least the inch of face people could see under the mask and hair. Kawaii~chan realized that she never wondered why he covered his face. Everyone seemed to know except for her. Accidentally, she let out a sniffle. Zane turned to look for whoever it was. Then, Kawaii~chan couldn't keep it in. She walked out from behind the bush, her tears shone on her face. "Sorry, Zane~kun. Kawaii~chan was outside when Zane~kun came. Kawaii~chan will leave now." Kawaii~chan turned, when said jumped up. "Are you-" he cut himself off, embarrassed. "Are you okay?" He asked. Kawaii~chan turned to face him, and shook her head. "No I'm not." She said. Zane's eyes widened. "You just said 'I'!" He said. Kawaii~chan sat next to him on the steps, putting her hand under her chin. "So what? At least that way people will see me just the way I was." Kawaii~chan sulked. She felt another tear swipe across her cheek.
