"Alright, miss Davis. Show me what you've been working on so passionately until such inappropriate hour. If all looks good, you're free to go. If you have nothing to show me, I don't think I need to tell you what happens next."

She just nodded slightly, relief showing all over her face. He, on the other hand, couldn't help but cock an eyebrow as she hurriedly got her backpack from her shoulders, pulling her laptop and a few very colorful notebooks out of it. She was wearing a backpack to work? Along with high heels?

He frowned, not knowing what to think of it. Was a backpack part of the work outfit etiquette? He'd never questioned that before, since he had never seen a woman with a backpack at work before. Sure, it looked simple and elegant, plain black and leathery, so he supposed it was alright.

Her smokey brown eyes were asking silently for his help as she was struggling to hold onto everything. Dimitrios made another step towards her, in an attempt to help her with all the stuff she was fixed on getting out of that miraculous bag. Did she fit her whole desk in there?

He grabbed her backpack in one hand and two notebooks in the other.

"Could we sit down for a moment? So I can show you."

He nodded silently, striding towards the black leather sofas in the foyer. She was following behind, her high heels on the marble floor being the only sound around.

He gestured for her to take a sit, and she did so gracefully, with her eyes already fixed on her laptop.

Ana refused the idea of having to sit on the same couch as him, so instead she took a sit on the armchair, and focused on finding all the files she was working on, along with opening and putting them in an order that would make things easier to explain. "Diamantis Ltd." was at the moment the 3rddiamond company in the world, operating on 3 continents, with over $4 billion in revenues, and Ana was working for it as a strategy consultant there. It was overwhelming every time the reality crossed her mind, and then, to have the CEO, Dimitrio Diamantis, stand at 2 feet from her on a Friday night, it was unbearable. He was 32, tall, definitely over 6 foot 2, with incredibly broad shoulder, bronzed skin, with the dark eyes and dark hair that she knew she preferred in every man, if she ever had to choose. The fact that he was standing so close to her, analyzing and judging her every, very nervous move, was making her itch all over.

She finally put everything in order on her desktop and turned her laptop half towards him. However, he surprised her the moment he got up and went around the armchair, settling with his elbows on the back of the chair, as he was studying everything on her laptop carefully.

"Alright, so to explain it shortly..."

She made a pause, finding it hard to concentrate when she could feel his breath at the nape of her neck. Didn't he know of private space and not breaking the limits of what's comfortable and what's not?

"Hmm...", he made a fake sound of being highly interested, even though she could sense he wasn't. She knew he just couldn't wait to tell her that she would have to present her resignation letter on Monday. Everyone knew that he never fired anyone. He would just simply tell all employees they weren't needed anymore, that they would have to resign. What a nice way to get rid of people. Ana tried to keep her focus, as she opened the first document, and started explaining. She heard all the stories about how cruel, absolutely ruthless he was.

"Alright, so, at the moment we are considered to be the powerhouse in the growth of the Botswanan economy. It is still far from a rich country, but it is growing fast, all because of this company. However, with the latest conflicts in Angola and Mozambique, things won't look good for us if we don't start being more preoccupied about the people there. I get that you have your analysts at the site, and very intelligent people are in charge there at the moment. I'm just not sure intelligence is everything in a country that is fighting hunger and survival."
