Chapter 18
Ian
There he was down on one knee waiting for my answer.
I was so shocked, it was so unexpected but then again he had been acting weird for the past couple of days.
"Anthony of course I will. Yes!" I said as if it was obvious.
He got up and wrapped his arms around me "Oh Ian you don't know how happy I am that you said yes! I've been so nervous for-"
I pushed my lips softly but suddenly on his lips and cut him off.
After we were done I replied saying "I know Anthony"
We walked back to the others with the ring on my finger.
I walked and showed my ring for everybody to see. The ring was a bit small but we can get it changed to a better size. It was still comfortable though.
"HE SAID YES!" They all screamed.
"Did you all know?" I asked, stunned.
"Well yeah I told them and I had to get your fathers permission" Anthony said.
"So that's why you said you needed to ask him something"
"Congratulations!" People would say whenever they had the chance for the rest of the night.
Although most left after the fireworks.
My parents were in on it and I was talking to them about it.
"Mom I am so surprised that you didn't accidentally blab it out. You are so bad at keeping secrets"
"That is true Cheryl" my dad agreed.
"Not with something like this" she said.
"I suppose that's true"
"I'm really happy for you Ian, and I think we are both proud to have you as our son. You're great. We love you" she said.
"Mom don't get all cheesy on me"
"It's true though. I have to congratulate Anthony. Where is your fiancé?"
"Eh I don't know. It sounds weird to hear him being referred to as my fiancé maybe just keep it as boyfriend"
Anthony and I haven't even had a chance to speak about the whole thing; I think we can agree to just leave it as boyfriend and boyfriend. Fiancé is too posh or something.
We had so much to talk about. It was all very exciting and the only person I could genuinely talk to about it is the person I'm going to marry.
I found him at the drinks table chatting to Melissa.
"I can't believe you're engaged" she said happily.
"Neither can I" I admitted.
"We have months of stressful planning ahead of us Ian. We need to talk details soon" Anthony said.
"I really don't care about the details as long as you'll be my husband by then"
Melissa left to check on the kids who were asleep upstairs.
"My mom said a few nice words to me and she explained to my brothers that we were gay"
"How'd it go?"
"They were fine about it; they said they still loved me"
"Then it's all good" I said.
It was only my family and Anthony's family now (Except Anthony's brothers were asleep on my parent’s bed). Well we would be all one family soon after the wedding. We don't know when and where it will take place.
