Good Girls Are Bad Girls
Faye Vega
It had been I eventful weeks since I hung out with Seth. My mom believed I didn't skip class and I was once again lucky. It was Saturday morning, ten to be exact, and I was laying on my bed staring blankly at the ceiling.
"Faye!" My dad called but I ignored him closing my eyes. "Faye!" He called again this time closer. I kept my eyes closed concentrating on my breathing. "Faye!" Dad said sounding next to me. "I called you but you didn't answer. What are you doing?"
"Meditating." I mumbled slowly fluttering my yes open. He sighed shaking his head.
"Always the meditating. Faye go shower and get dressed."
"Why?"
"Just do you're going to work with me." I groaned and rolled on the bed so I was face down.
"Fine." I got up and did as told hurrying since dad worked right about now. I walked down the stairs after grabbing my phone and bag to greet dad.
"Took you long enough. Come on I'm late." I huffed following him.
"I only took five minutes. And why can't I stay home?"
"Your mother says I don't spend enough time with you and you hang out in your room too much." I rolled my eyes.
Typical mom.
"And spending time in your office will help our father daughter time?" I asked while getting my seatbelt on.
"Not really. We'll go out for ice cream later on when I get out. Then I can take you shopping if you want." I nodded.
"Sounds like a plan."
The drive to his office was eternal since all I could hear in the radio was some morning show talk. It was terrible. Once we got to his office we parted separate ways. He went to his cube of an office and I went to the lobby where the wifi signal was incredible. I was sitting on the floor next to a plug since my phone was about to die. I was staring at my baby blue vans intensely when a pair of worn out red converses appeared. I looked up to find Seth standing there with an amused smile.
"What are you doing here?" He asked sitting down next to me our arms touching. I smiled.
"My dad." I pointed at the way where the offices would be. "He works here, you?" I asked.
"My mom." He nodded. "She's a secretary for some guy named Wilson Vega." I laughed.
"That guy?" I asked. "Heard he's a real jerk." I joked.
"I don't know him but his name sounds tacky and like he's the shit and not in a good way." He said grabbing my hand.
"Seth." I laughed loudly causing a few heads to turn our way. "That guy Wilson is my dad." He stopped playing with my hand and looked like he was about to pass out.
"H-he is?" I nodded amused at the sight of him nervous. "I mean, I'm sorry Faye I didn't mean to." I laughed shaking my head.
"Is ok you didn't know." I rested my head on his shoulder. "Just don't go calling him that no more." I said looking at him in the eyes and resting my head back on his shoulder.
"Yes Ma'am." He laughed. "Hey, what up with not texting me this weeks? Were you ignoring me?" I shook my head.
"No, I lost your contact. I'm sorry. But hey! What up with you not texting me? I don't have to start the conversation on my own."
"I thought the girl started everything." He said coming out more as a question. I rolled my eyes at him and punched his arm.
"You're such a jerk."
