Oh god! no, I really don't feel like going to school today! especially when there's new people to meet... you see I'm not the best in meeting new people, it's taken me 5 years to manage to talk to my friendship group though small I love it that way.
I should introduce myself, I'm Katniss everdeen, I live by myself mostly unless my so called mother decides to pop by to shout and name call me otherwise I'm on my own.
My dad and little sister died not long ago, I tend not to share that though only my close friends have been granted to have that information
I take a quick shower then inspect my body, I have long brown hair which I always wear in a side braid unless I am forced to wear it differently.
My body is slim, I am slim due to the fact that my mother tends not to leave enough money for food, so I am forced to ration.
After showering and doing my normal hair do, I change into high wasted black shorts and a white blouse along with my doc.martins of course!
I slowly make my way down stairs grab and apple and skip my way to school which luckily is only a few blocks away.
I meet up with my best-friend gale, i've known him for all my life, he is one of the only ones who knows about my past and my mum.
"Hi catnip' he greets
"G'morning galey' I reply. he slyly scowls at his nickname but I just laugh
"New kids today love" he sadly reminds me. he laughs when he sees my annoyed face.
"God! do the talking with ma would ya galey??"
"Fine....." he mutters me knowing he hates meeting people almost as much as me, you see he isn't one of the most happiest people.
Gale has two younger brothers and a younger sister, his dad died when he was sick and his mother works as a laurndrette so sadly that doesn't bring in a lot of money. due to mine and his lack of money we both illegal hunt together in the woods near our house.
You see the city we live on, panem doesn't want us to do so however we don't have a choice otherwise we will both starve.
I feel starved, I am envious to those who have familes who feed them, that's what makes me and gale connect so much.
