Kage glanced over at him, that damn smirk still there, ruining his pretty face. Alex rolled his eyes and turned to the French teacher, hearing absolutely none of the words.

"We're reading a book called Harry Postier. Can someone read the introduction?" Alex's cousin Olivia asked. The professor was shifting through papers, glaring at students in turn who barely tried. Alex was in that category.

No one raised their hand because it's high school. Why would they?

Kage leaned over into Alex's space and looked at his book, open at the edge of his desk and ignored.

Random lines were underlined in neon green or magenta. They all seemed to be positive things, but it was strange. Alex quickly got frustrated with the taller guy hanging over his shoulder and shoved him aside with his elbow.

"There is a very clear line between desks, it's actually void of a seat just so that you don't end up in my space," he spat under his breath.

Kage rolled his eyes and glanced up at Olivia.

She sighed exasperatedly. "Someone?"

Kage smirked, talking under his breath. "Well then god forbid anyone get close to you," he taunted.

Alex's green gel pen fell sharply onto the floor and he glared forward. He passively put his hand up.

Olivia gave a relieved sigh way to soon. "Thanks Alex, can you read the first few pages?"

His voice was short and cold, frustrated with Kage. "Introduction to Harry Postier," he started, without looking at the book in front of him. "The following book is a France specific Around the World in Eighty Days without the bet at the beginning and honestly is a waste of all of our time. Can we please be dismissed."

Kage snorted. "She asked you to read the intro not the whole book," he said mockingly.

Alex growled quietly. "Can you shut the hell up? Just for a second?"

Kage laughed lightly. "Maybe if you asked nicely, but even then. That's no fun."

Alex picked up the green gel pen, tapping it on the edge of the desk. He chewed his lip, trying desperately to ignore the incessantly annoying thing next to him.

Olivia knelt down in front of his desk, having assigned the class other work while the actual teacher was moping under her pile of failed essays.

Her voice was watery, and her sun tanned skin glowed in the unnatural lighting. "Alex? You good? Do we need to, you know?"

Alex shook his head. "No, I'm fine. Thanks Livy," he lied. Well, yeah, he was mentally stable. He wasn't going into an anxiety attack. But no he wasn't fine. The guy right next to him was hot as hell and annoying him. And Alex was impulsive and loud mouthed. He was bound to cross some boundaries.

Olivia gave him a concerned look and went back to doing the assignment herself.

Kage leaned over into Alex's space again, holding out his copy of the book. "Can you stand me long enough to work on this together?" he asked. To Alex he sounded sincere, but that didn't mean anything compared to the hours of torment he had to suffer beforehand.

"That's a nightmare," he spat, grabbing his own book and filling out a character chart.

Kage hummed, looking at his book in fake innocence. "At least I'm still in your dreams," he teased.

Alex choked. He felt his face heating up. His voice came out pitifully quiet and cracked. "Please don't do that. I have a strong feeling if you keep going I'm going to regret something."
