Seeing people you know from high school gives almost everyone an uneasy feeling because most of those people you knew, didn't even associate with you all that much. Maybe something happened between you guys while in school, or you simply just had a dislike for them and their friends.

Whatever it was, you just don't feel the need to bring up the past and reminisce about those certain four years of your life.

That was how Normani felt at the moment.

She wasn't sure about going to the event that her old bestfriend had planned for her and their old classmates. Of course it wasn't all of them, but she was informed of the few that were invited and she wasn't happy about one of them.

Dinah Jane Hansen. Her ex.

Normani hadn't spoken to the younger girl since she broke up with their senior year. It was extremely hard to avoid the awkward tension that was present whenever the two were anywhere near each other after that. For example, senior skip day, when the graduating class was supposed to be having fun at the beach, Dinah kept glaring at the older woman and any guy or girl that would look at her for too long in her bikini.

Everyone in the small circle of friends noticed the girl's jealousy, but what could they do about it? Normani dumped the blonde because she no longer wanted a relationship with her, and that was that.

Next to Senior skip day, prom–which took place a month later–Normani attended the dance with a football player who asked her, and Dinah was so jealous that she ended up breaking the boy's nose later that night. Most people who were there defended the blonde because they had witnessed him taunting her, and the others would blame Dinah and say that she ruined prom night.

Can you guess which group Normani was in?

Besides seeing her ex after ten years, Normani was nervous about reuniting with her other best friends and them meeting her boyfriend.

It just gave her a new layer of insecurity thinking about spending a week in a cabin with people she hasn't talked to in over ten years. She was afraid of the judgement, but then again...whose to say that the group still had teenage minds and high school gossiping habits?

Dinah wasn't informed of all the details like everyone else had been. It had to be that way so that the woman would agree to come. If she knew that Normani and Lauren were bringing their boyfriends to the cabin, she would've denied the offer.

Of course she wouldn't really care for Lauren's boyfriend, but she would've fumed at the knowledge of Normani's handsome and rich director boyfriend attending the high school reunion for a week at the cabin.

Instead, Lauren told her that she and two other friends rented a cabin out for 7 days, as a gift to Normani for her birthday that was coming up soon.

Dinah knew that Ally and Will would be there and that made her a little happy because she hadn't seen or heard from them, including Normani and Lauren, since graduation. That was ten years ago.

She was pretty sure that she was over Normani and that they could play friends for the week. Just because it was her birthday.

Little did she know, it was way more complicated than that.

"Oh my gosh, Dinah!" Ally exclaimed as she pulled the taller blonde into a hug. She squeezed the girl with a smile on her face, as well as Dinah's while she rested her cheek on the smaller woman's head. Ally pulled back and looked over Dinah's face. "Look at you! So big and strong."
