Derek's POV
I don't know what I was thinking.
"What the hell are you thinking?" Sarah was really mad, even if she wasn't yelling. I knew she didn't want me to go hunting.
"Sarah, try to understand. Hunting is my life. I have to do this," I pleaded. I want her approval on this, I truly do, but even if she still doesn't agree, I'm going to go get this werewolf.
"Derek, I don't want anything to happen to you," Sarah said, her voice wobbly. "I-I just-"
Danny interrupted. "Sarah, Derek has been a hunter since he was 13. You can't change who he is," Danny ran his fingers through his dirty-blond hair. "Truly, hunting is his life."
Thank you, Danny
Sarah sighed. "Fine," she said, sounding defeated. "Go put your life in danger. I'll just wait for you to come back so I can patch you up. Just like always." She walked away. I heard Sarah open, and then close, our bedroom door.
"Damn..." I feel really bad. "I hate putting her through this," I said, sitting down and putting my head in my hands. "It's like Mom all over again." Danny patted me on the shoulder.
"It'll be okay, little dude," Danny replied. "It'll all work out."
"I hope so."

I grabbed my already-packed duffel bag of weapons and put it in the back seat. Danny was driving, so I was stuck with the passenger side. Sarah came to the window, her face drawn. "I'll see you when you get back." I kissed her cheek, and she went back inside. We drove away.

We're driving along a back road, nearing our destination. It's dusk, and I am starving.
"Danny, I need food. Can we-" Suddenly, a dark form darted across the road. The truck swerved, but Danny righted it.
"Holy shit," I said, my adrenaline pumping from that near-death experience.
"Derek, I think that was our target," Danny said as he parked on the side of the road. We faced eachother.
"Do you want to follow it now?" I inquired.
"No," he responded. "It would probably be best if we set up here in town and asked around about anything suspicious first. Maybe even find him before he goes wolfy again." I agreed with him. Besides, I need food before I can go traipsing about an unfamiliar forest.
Danny drove us to the nearest motel that was still in town and got us a room. I think the front desk clerk thought we were a couple, because we got a single room and a queen-sized bed. Neither of us cared, though, and there was plenty of room. Danny and I fell asleep almost immediately after we ate our "dinner"; it was really late.

Sarah's POV
I watched Derek and Danny drive away. I can't believe Derek would do this! He promised me he wouldn't go hunting for a while. It's like he's trying to get away from me.
Okay, I don't care if it comes off as clingy. When Derek gets back I'm going to tell him I love him. I need to know if he loves me too-
Wait... what was that sound? I turn around and I see a tall, darkened figure in the doorway to the hall.
"W-who are you?" I asked tremulously. The dark figure, now smiling and becoming more recognizable as a person, moved towards me. I stepped back. The figure I now see is a man, a large man at that, keeps advancing on me. My back hit a wall and he was right in front of me.
This monster of a man leans over me, trapping me with his arms and grinning. It wouldn't be so scary, if it weren't for this hulking brute having large scars on his face and neck. They looked like...
Bite marks?
"Heh heh heh," he chuckled, scaring me. What he said next nearly made me pass out.
In his grating voice he says, "The boss is gonna love ya."

Derek POV - 2 days later
The hunt went off without a hitch. We bagged and tagged the poor guy, and Danny went to that bar he was talking about. I stayed in the motel room, though. I don't really see a need for me to go, since I have a girfriend to get home to. Mmmm, I can't wait to get home now.
Walking through the door, I immediately know something is wrong. Sarah would have ran to give me a hug, even after our, well, disagreement. I see the slight scratch marks on the frame of the doorway, and then I see the broken shards of a lamp and an overturned sidetable. I run to it, and I notice the curtain was torn a bit as well. Danny comes in and sees what I see.
"What the hell happened?" He exclaimed.
"I think a werewolf took Sarah."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danny immediately got to work, helping me try and think who could've taken her, and then it hits us: The Pack.
Usually, werewolves are loners, since they don't actually turn into real wolves. But, some have banded together and have a sort of gang. Hunters call this gang The Pack. They are stealthy, and able to get away with more before we can get any of them. We haven't found any werewolves in a more elevated spot in their heirarchy.
"We have to call in some reinforcements," I told him. "Maybe-"
"Megan, Uncle Vincent, your dad, our cousins," Danny said to me. "They'll be able to help. Uncle Vincent especially, with how much he knows about The Pack." He grabbed his cell and started dialing. "Hopefully they're all in the same place." I started pacing, filled with worry. I just can't believe she was taken.
"It's all my fault," I murmured. Danny shushed me. I shook my head at him. This really is my fault.
"Derek, The Pack took Sarah because she's connected to hunters, the prestigious Callahans," Danny let out a breathy, slightly crazy sounding laugh. "It's not your fault being who you are. Even if you stopped hunting, you'd stil be connected to hunters. You'd still be a Callahan." He turned away from me and faced the window. "Sarah's family now, so we all are going to protect her. Now," he added. "Get ready. Everyone's coming over to help."
