❝Raven's freshman year became a living hell.❞

>> >> >>

Raven Sanders was bullied for her entire freshman year. Raven wasn't a troublemaker and she didn't do anything that should have caused her to get bullied. The only person who stood by her was her best friend but even she slowly drifted away from her.

Raven came out that year to her best friend as bisexual and she swore her to secrecy. However, after a few weeks, Raven's secret was all over the school. Even though there were quite a few kids who were out at her school, she got bullied because people thought she was hiding that she was a lesbian (which she wasn't).

Raven's freshman year became a living hell. Even her best friend drifted apart from her, finding new friends who thought Raven to be a liar.

Raven didn't tell her parents anything about her bullying because she didn't want to put the burden on their shoulders. She didn't even tell her brother who knew something was up. When her brother found out, he confronted her about it. Raven told him about the bullying which by that time had turned physical. He insisted on telling their parents and when Raven said she couldn't, he did it for her.

Her parents immediately contact the school about it and they admit that there have been some incidents but they don't appear to have done anything about it. They take her to a psychiatrist who prescribe her medicine as they believe she might have depression and Raven doesn't tell them that the marks on her arms aren't from her but rather from her classmates.

Raven insists she's fine but her parents find out about her dropping grades and loss of interest in cheerleading which used to make up the majority of her free time. Raven's mom insists on pulling her out of the school that she's in though her dad isn't sure about it.

The last straw occurred when her best friend joined in on the bullying and Raven arrived home with cuts and bruises on her face. Both her parents pulled her out of the school and moved themselves to Lima, Ohio where they enrolled their kids in McKinley High school. Unfortunately, Raven had to redo her freshman year as she hadn't received high enough marks to move on to sophomore year. Raven didn't mind as she tried out for the cheer team and upon Quinn Fabray's insisting to Sue Sylvester, was admitted onto the team. Quinn took the Sanders girl under her wing and introduced her to McKinley society.

Raven quickly told her a little bit about her past and how she was bisexual, assuming Quinn would turn on her but when she accepted her for who she was, Raven was shocked and didn't know what to do. Quinn said that people would judge her because she was different but she would protect her because now that she was a cheerleader, she was Quinn's responsibility.
