~a day before leaving~
Kaye's POV:
I was woken up by the ray of sunshine that snuck into my room, and greeted by the birds chirping outside my window.
"This might be a good day" I thought, and I reached my phone from my side table.
When I saw the date February 28, 2018.
Oh...
"I'm going to leave tomorrow" I say, barely a whisper.
Ringgg
I picked up my phone and see the i.d. Caller, it's Ronnie.
"Hello" I say, rather a sad voice.
"Kaye, we need to talk..."
"Sure, where?"
"In the park, in 2 p.m"
"Okay, see you then"
Then he hung up.
"What's he gonna talk about?" I thought.
~2:00 p.m~
I'm now sitting on a bench in the park, I was waiting for Ronnie to come.
While waiting I was looking at a old couple, 'they're still happy, that's gonna be me and Ronnie one day' I thought while a smile crept on my lips.
5 minutes later I heard footsteps heading my direction, when I looked back, I saw Ronnie, and almost instantly I jumped up and hugged him.
But there was a problem...
He didn't hug back...
But instead pushed me away...
"Babe, what's the matter?" I asked
"Kaye, sorry, but I can't do long distance relationship" he said looking at me with emotionless eyes.
I smiled bitterly, "Ronnie, how could you say that? We haven't even tried" I said in a sweet voice.
"Kaye, I really can't-"
I scoffed "Ronnie, what happened to 'I won't break up with you, I promise'? Huh?!" I was already in the verge of crying.
Ronnie's POV:
"Ronnie, what happened to 'I won't break up with you, I promise'? Huh?!"
Those 11 words spinning in my head every hour, every minute, and every second.
~flashback to 2 weeks ago~
It was 6 p.m, I just came back from the date I had with Kaye.
Once I entered my room I plopped on my bed and stare at the ceiling, thinking about when Kaye's gonna leave.
After a while I decided to wash up. After doing so, I saw my phone buzzing, when I looked at the caller I.D, it ended up a unknown number.
I answered it anyway.
"Hello?" I start
"Hello is this, Ronnie?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact I am, why is that?"
"I need you to break up with Kaye"
"Excuse me?" I said sternly
"Who is this anyway?" I added"This is her father, and as her father I tell you to break my daughters heart"
"Sir with all due respect, I can't do that, your daughter is my everything and I love her"
"Well, if you love her that much, then let her go, you're gonna make it hard for her to leave, and as her father, I'll protect my daughter in any circumstance"
"Okay sir, but please promise me to not hurt her, please"
"I will never"
Then he hung up.
After that I just cry myself to sleep, "I'm sorry, Kaye, I'll wait for you" I said to myself, while looking at the picture of her in my lock screen.
~end of flashback~
I never wanted to break up with her, I did that for her.
I know it would be hard for her to leave, knowing that I'm here, it'll be hard for her.
As for myself, I'd do anything to cope with it, I'd wait for her everyday.
Because, that's how much I love her.
Kaye's POV:
I can't believe he did that, I thought he'd never leave.
Now I'm packing my stuff, and boxing my things.
"Well this'll be easier"
~next day~
Beep beep beep
My alarm clock went off, and I ignore it, "why so early?" I thought.
While I sit on my bed, I remember, I need to leave today.
"Oh" I whispered
I got up and washed up, and wore high waisted shorts and a polo shirt, "good enough" I said while looking at myself on the mirror, after that I put some light make up and put my hair up on a high ponytail.
I went out of my apartment, I looked at it one more time, after I left.
When I arrived outside of the elevator, I looked at my phone, "oh I forgot my phone" I thought, and I went back to my apartment to get it.
While I was in the room I got my phone, and saw a picture frame, it was a picture of Ronnie and I.
It was when we went to the amusement park, eating cotton candy, we were so happy back then.
And not realizing a tear made it's way to my cheeks, and wiped it, immediately.
"I shouldn't cry anymore" I said to myself in the mirror.
And with that I left and found my way to the elevator.
~airport~
I'm now in the airport waiting for my plane, I was there on my phone scrolling through my social media.
While I was doing so someone sat beside me, but I didn't mind, but when I looked in the corner of my eye, he kept staring at me.
So I looked at him and our eyes met, he's familiar.
