It was a cold day. Peridot hears the crunch of the snow beneath her feet as she's walking home. Everything was so quiet and peaceful, just the way peridot liked it. but It was too cold for her liking.
She had four blocks to go before she would get home. As peridot turned the corner she saw someone she recognized. It was lapis. The girl she watched from afar, too afraid to talk to her. Maybe this was her chance. Peridot picked up her pace to match lapis's.Eventually she was walking right next to lapis.
Lapis didn't seem to have noticed her. Peridot tried to speak but the words couldn't escape her mouth. She was too nervous to even say "hi".Lapis looked at peridot, and peridot couldn't help but blush. Luckily for her lapis didn't seem to notice her blush.
All of the sudden peridot saw someone step right in front of them. Peridot recognized this person. They were the person she sees bully lapis almost daily. "Hey, emo freak!" Peridot hated it when people called lapis that name. But it never bothered lapis. Then peridot felt words slip out of her mouth.
"Hey clod. Leave her alone!" Lapis looked at peridot, surprised. The bully looked at peridot. "Who are you, her girlfriend?" Peridot blushed, thinking of the idea of her and lapis being togheter. Lapis stepped in front of Peridot and looked the bully in the eyes. "Get out of here before I do something I won't regret." Immediately, the bully walked away. Lapis turned around to face peridot. "Thanks, but I don't need your help."
Lapis walked away. Peridot watched lapis until she was out of sight. The whole walk home, Peridot only had one thing on her mind. "She spoke to me."
Peridot couldn't sleep that night. Like always, she could only think of lapis. The next day Peridot looked out the window to see the sun shining on the snow. She put on her coat and walked outside. "Some coffee would be nice"
peridot walked to her favorite Starbucks with the snow crunching beneath her feet. When she got to Starbucks, she saw lapis. "I wasn't expecting her to be here." Peridot saw lapis looking at her. Lapis motioned for Peridot to sit with her.
Peridot walked over to the table and sat next to lapis. They sat in silence for a muinite or so. "So, what's your name?" Peridot looked at lapis "my names Peridot" peridot blushed a little. Lapis's deep blue eyes looked so beautiful up close. "My names lapis."
Peridot wanted to say "I know that" but decided not too. Peridot and lapis talked for a while. Lapis got up from her seat and walked outside. "She didn't even say goodbye."
Peridot then noticed something in her pocket. It was a thin slip of paper with writing on it. Peridot quickly took it out of her pocket and looked at it. It had a phone number on it. There was also writing on it that said "call me."
Peridot got home as soon as she could so she could call lapis. She felt her heart pounding in her chest as she dialed the numbers. The phone rang while Peridot tried to calm down.
Lapis answered the phone. " hi Peridot. I see you found my note"
"It wasn't hard to find, you left it in my pocket"
"I'm such a nerd" peridot thought to herself. "Lapis?" She couldn't believe she was about to do this. "Do you wanna go out sometime?"
Peridot hears lapis start laughing over the phone. Peridot then felt overwhelmed with embarrassment.
"Sure, same place tomorrow?" Peridot felt relieved to hear that response. Lapis was a girl Peridot only watched from afar. Now they were about to go on a date.
