New Guardian

I woke up to the sound of someone's footsteps. My eyes opened slowly and scanned the room I was in. I couldn't see much for my vision was blurred slightly from my slumber. I looked over and finally was able to see the boy from before. I flashed weakly. "Jack?" Instantly he was at my side checking my over. "Your awake." He said smiling slightly. I sat up flinching from a head ache that formed in the back of my eyes. Jack gently placed his hand on my back to steady me and handed me a small glass of water. I took it and sipped it while giving him a quick thanks with my stripes. He smiled and replied then stood up. "You riled everyone up with your sudden appearance." I looked up tilting my head. I shifted as he continued talking. "Once you passed out from your asthma attack we quickly brought you here and pump air into your lunges until you where stable." Jack sat down in a chair placed next to the bed I sat in. I looked around nervously then flashed. "Where's Skyler?" I looked over to Jack and played with the sheets nervously. "Oh is that you're wolf?" He asked standing. I nodded and allowed my gaze to follow him as he walked to the door. He opened the door and Skyler came in running straight towards me. He lunged onto the bed and attacked me with kisses and back flops. I smiled and shook my shoulders in a silent giggle. I rubbed his ears lovingly and hugged his large head earning another kiss. Jack walked back over smiling as Skyler rolled to his back giving me access to his belly. I rubbed his soft fur and his leg started kicking outward. I looked up smiling at Jack. "He wouldn't leave the room until we finally made him sit outside in front of the door." I smiled and hugged Skyler close as his tongue lolled out of his mouth happily. "Are you a new Guardian?" I asked glancing up to Jack tilting my head. Jack nodded leaning on his staff slightly. "I am. I don't want to be but I am." I furrowed my eyebrows and shifted slightly. "Why not? Being a Guardian has it perks at times." I flashed while playing with Skyler's collar. Jack shrugged and said. "I'm not one for this." I nodded and looked over at my giant wolf. "What are you the Guardian of?" Jack asked. I flinched looking further away as I felt a hand of dread clench around my chest. "I'm. The Guardian of Negative human emotions. Such as Sorrow. Loathing. Suicidal thoughts etc." I responded glancing up at Jack. " As for my twin sister. She's Positive human emotions. Love, happiness, and such." I responded rubbing Skyler's chin. "That's interesting. I bet it's very important to humans." I nodded and smiled at Jack. "Either way. Everyone is worried about what caused you to show up in such a panic. So could you come and explain what has you worried?" I nodded and stood up stumbling slightly as I became light headed. Jack catches me and stables me. I blush slightly and flash a thanks. "No problem Sensus." I walked over to the door and opened the door. "Santa his so called study." I nodded and glided across the floor as I made my way to the room. Skyler followed fast behind with his tongue lulling out of his giant jaws. I pushed open the doors to see Santa standing with the others talking among themselves. I walked over and gently tugged on Santa's sleeve. He looked down and smiled laughing outward. His arms engulfed me in a hug then lifted me. I flashed my protest which was unnoticed and confusing to him as usual. He set me down ruffling my hair making me stumble. I looked up glaring slightly until I felt a small tug at my shoulder pulling me into a golden male I called my uncle. I hugged Sandy smiling. He released me patting my head smiling down at me. Tooth Fairy waved at me and Easter Bunny just nodded. I waved to them all smiling with my eyes closed. "What had you all worried yesterday Sensus?" Asked Tooth looking at me. I sighed filling a pit form in my stomach knowing they couldn't understand me. They never took the time to understand my luminescent language. It was just like morse code but with lights. I flashed my stripes which only confused them more. I flashed again more irritated then an idea came to my mind. "Jack come here!" I flashed grabbing Jack's arm and pulling him towards me. "Tell them what I'm saying so they understand what I'm saying." I flashed frantically. Jack tilted his head. "So pretty much you want me to translate?" He asked and I nodded happily. He nodded and watched as I flashed my stripes for him. "Pitch is planning on killing Sandy so there is no more good dreams and only nightmares." He said looking at me then to the others. "What?!" Asked Eater Bunny pushing of the desk he was leaning on. Uncle showed me a picture which told me he'd be fine. I flashed my stripes angrily. "She only wants to stop her father from hurting you so don't get defensive and acting like you'll be fine." Jack said stepping back and looking at me. Uncle sighed and shrugged. "We will keep close eye on him. Pitch won't get to him. For now. We help Tooth collect all the teeth in the world." Santa ordered and I nodded. I flashed once more. "She wants to help." Tooth smiled and flied up hugging me tightly. I smiled as she thanked me profusely. "It's settled then. We head out on slay." I smiled excitedly as the memories of my childhood filled my head from when I use to ride in the slay with Santa. "Let's go."
