Part 1: Changing Tides

Rainbow-chan's POV
Hello, my name is Rainbow-Chan. My gear is all very colorful, so that's how I earned my name. Anyway, we had moved to Inkopolis Square and started training there. But there was a tournament and thankfully, we didn't have to face a tough opponent like Team Emperor. Skull texted Goggles last night that the S4 are entering the tournament as one team. Wow, the first opponent for them is going to wrecked. Pearl screeched into in the microphone "OK, WE'RE GONNA GET THIS PARTY STARTED. WHEN WE CALL YOUR NAME, COME UP AND GRAB A TICKET TO DECIDE YOUR BLOCK AND FIRST OPPONENT. BLUE TEAM!" "Rainbow-Chan." I went up and grabbed my ticket. I read it aloud "Block B, final match, team Bravo." (A/N, different from manga, so roll with it.) Marina then uploaded 4 blue squids onto the last spot on Block B. The Octoling then spoke next. "S4!" Skull then silently came up and due to Skull losing his voice last night thanks to Aloha having a party motioned for me to come over and say it for him after three tries of speaking. I read aloud "S4 are Block A, first match, Team Bravo." Marina then uploaded a orange squid, a pink squid, a cyan squid, and a purple squid representing Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull respectively. This went all the way 4 teams were undecided: Team Emperor, Rider, Retro Gamer, and School Cardigan. "Team Emperor!" Gulp. Please don't be us, please don't be us. "Block A, first match, Team Alpha." Next to the S4's spot, four yellow squids, with the top one having a crown, were displayed. (A/N: The School Cardigan team are all boys, like Retro Gamer, but no female haircuts) "Yellow-Green team!" Block B, second match, Team Bravo." Pearl yelled out "So that means the Blue Team will fight the Retro Gamers, while Rider will fight the School Cardigans."
Emperor's POV
This is going to be rough, even with Skull's lost voice. Army has a manual displaying every action, Aloha is extremely tricky to hit, Mask's expertise is sub-weapons, and none of us save N-Pacer have the range to duel Skull, and even then, the Custom E-Liter 3K scope trumps the Splatterscope in range, meaning N-Pacer is going have to get closer to Skull than Skull has to get to N-Pacer. I then noticed an Inkling Girl whose clothing burst with color and blue shredded pigtail hair, but my heart started pounding excitingly. Am I in love? No matter. They'll be scared off by my glare.
Rainbow-Chan's POV
Emperor glared at us, with Specs and Bobble Hat being frozen in fear. Goggles was oblivious to who was glaring for a second, but I froze for a different reason. This is going to be a nightmare. In love with Emperor? At least he's 90% not interested with me. At least we're in separate teams, so I don't have to deal with Prince. Pearl shouted "Team Emperor! S4! You will be battling in Moray Towers, and your battle will be first! Let's go!" My legs started moving on their own once Emperor and his team started to enter with Goggles, Specs, and Bobble Hat trying to get there before me once they noticed what I was doing. "RAINBOW-CHAN, ARE YOU INSANE?!" "Heh, go Rainbow-chan!" "RAINBOW-CHAN, AS YOUR LEADER, GET BACK HERE!" "MY LEGS JUST STARTED MOVING ON THEIR OWN!"
Emperor's POV
Prince motioned for me to follow, and I heard a commotion behind me, which caused everyone on both teams to stop. "RAINBOW-CHAN, ARE YOU INSANE?!" "Heh, go Rainbow-chan!" "RAINBOW-CHAN, AS YOUR LEADER, GET BACK HERE!" "MY LEGS JUST STARTED MOVING ON THEIR OWN!" I saw the girl I noticed earlier walking towards the spectator seats this time with Dapple Dualies, along with her teammates: a boy with the original boy hair cut, sporting the Pilot Goggles, Eggplant Mountain Coat, and Hero Runner Replicas with his weapon being the Splattershot, another original haircut boy, this one sporting a Retro Specs, Baby-Jelly Shirt & Tie, and Smoky Wingtips with his weapon being the Octobrush, and a short bob haircut girl, wielding the Slosher, while decking the Bobble Hat, Gray Hoodie and a pair of purple sea slugs. Prince whispered "The girl leading is Rainbow-Chan, the one wielding the Splattershot is their leader, and Goggles, the Octobrush wielder is Specs, and the Slosher is Bobble Hat." I also got look at Rainbow-Chan, revealing her gear to be Takoroka Visor, Takoroka Windcrusher, and Crazy Arrows. Rainbow-Chan, huh. Can't wait to meet you. We entered the match, and looking from the front row, was Rainbow-chan. Before we started, Prince got a remark in "You have a crush on Rainbow-chan?" I angrily whispered "Shut up, Prince." Pearl shouted "Go!"
Time-skip brought to you by Rainbow-Chan paying attention to Emperor throughout the entire match and Team Emperor arriving back home, with the first round done, with Emperor also paying attention to Rainbow-chan her match.
We won, 60.00% to 40.00%. What amused me the most, however, was Rainbow-Chan staring at me the entire match. I then sneaked off to my room, and found Rainbow-Chan's number. I then inputted it in my phone, and called N-Pacer. "Hey, N-Pacer." "Yeah, Emperor?" "I'm going to MakoMart. Bye!" I then proceeded to jump out a window.
Rainbow-Chan's POV
That was a fun match. Goggles got hungry, so he didn't know about Emperor, nor the rest of the team. Emperor also stood at our match and exclusively watched me. "Don't get cooked, stay off the hook!" That was my message ringtone. I opened it to reveal a text from an unknown number. "Meet me at MakoMart." I yelled "Goggles!" "Yes, Rainbow-Chan?" I then showed him the text message to tell him where I was going. The next round takes place on Monday, and today is Tuesday.. Goggles then told me to be careful, seeing as the last person who did that was Mask, who we then had to fight.

After a bus ride in relative silence, me and Emperor ran into each other at the entrance. "I was wondering when you were going to show up-" Emperor then started blushing immensely. "Um, Emperor?" "Someone ripped your clothes." "GOGGLES I AM GOING TO SPLAT YOU!" Emperor then handed me a spare set of his team's clothes, then I started blushing. "Rainbow?" "Someone also ripped your clothes." "PRINCE..." I then handed him a set of my clothes. "This one's on the house, Emperor." We then changed into the other's clothes and met up at the freezers. Emperor started with "So, how do you work with your team?" "Goggles is recognized as the leader, but I'm effectively the team's moral compass. Goggles can be unpredictable during battles. The only reason we defeated Army was because Goggles ate curry and that wasn't in their manuals, Specs is the smart one on the team and the second most responsible member, and Bobble Hat is the optimist. How does your team work?" "Prince is the playboy younger brother, but does excellent. N-Pacer is the second most responsible member, while Squidkid Jr. rarely speaks, but coordinates with N-Pacer well." We then talked and talked and talked, until we fell asleep while snuggling in the furnace room.
Prince's POV
It's been two hours since Emperor left and he still hasn't come back.  N-Pacer shouted "Emperor is at MakoMart." SquidKid Jr., in one of the rare moments he speaks, replied "Let's go."
Specs' POV
It's been one hour and 45 minutes since Rainbow-chan left and she still hasn't come back. Goggles yelled "Someone asked Rainbow-chan out and asked her to go to MakoMart." I replied "Well let's go!"

We got to MakoMart at the same time as Team Emperor, minus Emperor. Me and N-Pacer confronted each other. "Um, have you seen Emperor ?" "Well, have you seen Rainbow-Chan?" A sudden realization then crashed into us. Goggles said it for everyone "Oh my squid, they're in love!" We then entered the store, and then we heard snores coming from the furnace. We then squid formed and got through the door. What shocked everyone, however, was the fact they switched clothes. Rainbow was now wearing the Eminence Cuff, the Milky Eminence Jacket, and the Milky Enperrials signed by Emperor, and Emperor was wearing Rainbow's signed Takoroka Visor, Takaroka Windcrusher, and Crazy Arrows. What shocked us the most, however, was when Goggles attempted to wake Rainbow-chan. (To be continued)
A/N: The cup is going to be ignored for the sake of building Emperor and Rainbow's relationship. Don't worry, I'll be doing an Octo Expansion arc too, and I'll say the characters now based on order of appearance, but each character will have different gear and weapon for escaping the facility.
