Ella stood, leaning against the car as she watched the dark clouds fill the sky. She felt the breeze blow her hair back past her shoulders, and took a deep breath of the fresh air. She watched her hand as she played around with her magic, waiting for Liam to fix the car.
"We should have taken my car. See I was right. You should always listen to me." she told him.
"I think Stiles is rubbing off on you too much," Liam said. "Besides, it's a new car."
"Maybe to someone else, but it's used." Ella said causing Liam to make a face at her.
"Why don't you use your witchy magic to fix my car?" Liam suggested
"Because I don't know anything about cars. I'll probably end up exploding it." She told.
"And the fact that you can do that makes you even more badass." Liam said as he went to the back of his car. "Uh, there's no spare."
"Seriously?"
"I know I'm sorry. Worst date every huh?"
"No, no of course not," Ella said as she held his face. "We've had much worse ones." She said causing Liam to laugh.
"You know actually, this could be our best date yet." Liam said as he pulled her close.
"Yeah?" She asked, and he simply just nodded giving her a quick kiss. She looked up to the sky finding beautiful lights that lit up the dark sky. "It must be the northern lights. They're beautiful."
Their attention to the lights changed when they saw a car's headlights slowly approaching. Liam waved his hand towards it, but stopped when he realized the car was going too slow. They watched as it drove past them and hit a fence. They cautiously walked towards it, Liam keeping Ella behind him, and saw no one driving it, the right door completely off, and the window smashed. Ella looked over to the back seat and jumped with a gasp when she saw a young boy. He ran out scared into Ella, looking back at where he had just came from.
"Don't let them take me." He said in a scared voice. The boy watched in the distance. "Don't let them take me too."
Liam looked at Ella with wide eyes. The both of them looked to the direction in where he came from, and Ella could have sworn, she heard the sound of a horse.

The boy had ended up staying at the sheriff's station, and Ella couldn't shake a weird feeling that she felt. It was cold and empty. It was something she wished she could forget. It didn't let her sleep at all that night. She tossed and turned, and when she did manage to drift off, she would be awakened by a dream of the of a man with a horse chasing her. It was hunting her and she couldn't outrun it.
The next day, Ella felt exhausted. During school all day her eyes would threaten to close on her. But anytime she'd feel the relief of going to sleep, her mind would play over the sound of a whip she heard in her dreams. That always made her eyes shoot open.
Ella's exhaustion wasn't missed by Liam. He noticed how she tired to fall asleep but would jump from her seat as soon as her eyes shut. He especially noticed when she was the only one not drooling over the new teacher. Instead, she just rested her head on her arms, and just stared at the paper in front of her. But every other girl in class, plus Corey, couldn't keep their eyes of the teacher who had just finished drawing a picture of a cat. But Ella wasn't really paying attention to anything he said. She didn't even notice he said to get in groups until she felt everyone come near her.
"Hey Ella you okay? You seem kinda, out of it today," Corey said.
"Hm? Yeah I'm fine. Just tired," she answered.
