My hamster, Poseidon, helped me with this chapter, such a sweet little baby~
E.J. let me go soon after he fixed me. I walked briskly down the long clean hallways, looking closely at the wallpaper. Red stuff was carelessly flicked onto the wall, confusing me. Why would there be blood on the wall? I brushed it off, but took a picture of it just in case. I wandered into the family room, searching for a familiar face. I soon spotted Ben and Tim over by the telly and made a b-line to them.
"Masky, BEN," I greeted slowly, careful to use Tim's preferred name. Ben put down a strange remote and stared at me happily. "Are you alright?" He asked quickly. I nodded with a small smile. "Of course," I sat straight up on the couch beside Tim. "What... are you?" He muttered, but not directed towards me. "No idea," A voice said, making my joints jump. Brian stood at the end of the couch silently. Ben looked at me curiously, then laughed. "Did he scare you?" He giggled behind his fingers.
"Of course not," I muttered. "Just surprised." Tim sighed. "Better get use to it, Xody. He's like a shadow." I could faintly hear Brian huff. "I am not a shadow," He muttered, more to himself than anything. I watched his movements for a moment before turning my attention to Ben, who laughed. "Sorry Hoods, you're totally a shadow." He patted Brian's orange hoodie before picking up the remote. "Masky, wanna play?" He asked, holding out another small black remote. Tim stared at it before slowly taking it. "Ha, this is gonna be gooood," Ben giggled childishly. He leaned over to me and whispered "Masky hates playing games. He's trying to show off to ya'." He winked at me and turned his focus to the screen, leaving me confused.
Brian must have seen my puzzled expression because he stood up and walked to my side of the couch. He seated himself onto the arm-rest with his arm draped over the back, right behind my head. I stared at him, a slightly more confused expression on my face."What'd Ben say to you?" He grumbled. But not in a aggressive manner, more of a 'the-guys-an-idiot-so-let-me-help-you-understand-him' way, if that makes any since. "He informed me that Timothy was trying to..'show off' by playing games." I murmured. "What does 'show off to ya' mean, Brian?" I could see a small screen appear in my vision revealing Brian's slightly growing irritation. "Hoodie, please." He hissed. "Apologies, Hoodie."
"Anyways...How should I explain this.." He rubbed the back of his head with his gloved hand. "Ben is saying Masky is trying to impress you, I guess." The puzzled expression never left my face. "Why would Timothy try to impress me?" I asked, looking up at Brian with furrowed brows. "I have no clue," He sighed out. "Maybe he wants to prove he wont back down to Ben, or something..." He turned his attention to Timothy's rage. The masked male was leaned forward, eyes dancing along with the humans on the screen, shooting a gun at another human. "Stop jumping around, Ben!" He growled. BEN only laughed wildly before taking a quick aim and shooting down Tim's human. In response to that, he threw down the remote with a loud curse. Ben continued to laugh, adding onto Tim's anger.
"Ben, I advise yo-" Hoodie put his hand over my mouth. "Just watch," he said, laughter clear in his soothing voice. I found myself listening to him, leaning back into his arm and watching Ben roll around shamelessly on the carpet. A bubble popped up, showing Tim's ever-growing rage. "Shouldn't we stop them?" I muttered to Hoodie. He shook his head. "This is why Masky never plays games, he sucks at them."
My mouth made a small "O" and I nodded. "Alright then," I had no clue what a "game" was exactly, but I decided to play along and pretended like I understood the concept. Timothy fingers balled into a fist at his sides. I was sure steam would shoot from his ears like a 'cartoon character' that I was acquainted with. I looked to Hoodie, unease settling in my robotic core before taking note on Timothy's meter. Ben calmed his laughter, wiping black tears from his eyes.
