Pyrewhip
A species of dragon that is a cousin of the Night Fury dragons. But while the body type is similar, there are many differences...
For one, Pyrewhips are not as fast as Night Furies, but are at least a third bigger. They have seven sharp horns on their heads. They have larger wings and have steering apparatus on their legs, rather than their hindquarters or tails. Also their teeth are not retractable.
Also, unlike Night Furies, Pyrewhips are brightly colored and most active during the daytime. They can live comfortably in both temperate forests or scalding volcanoes, but they prefer the latter due to the better camouflage and the protection provided for their nests.
It's main forms of attack are an immense fire breathing ability with a very high shot limit on their fire breath. Also, keeping in line with their namesake, Pyrewhip's use their ridiculously long, blade-tipped tails to slice at and stab opponents.
Species: Frilled Venom
Class: Fear Class
Fire: Flames imbued with poison from its fangs (fire color depends on dragon's color)
A special flower called the Snaptrap Flower (named for its resemblance to the Snaptrapper Dragon) is used to cure burns and poisoning from this dragon, either by drinking the nectar or spreading a salve made from the mashed roots onto the burns. Burns can poison a person or animal, and some dragons, but the poison is most lethal if you are bitten.
These dragons come in three varieties, the orange one above, green, and violet. There are no other colors on this species (I will try to put the other two colored varieties up as well once I have colored them).
On the underside of the dragon's wings is a large eye-like design used to intimidate bigger, stronger dragons, as this species is not very heavily armored. Only its belly is armored, and this dragon relies on its long claws to propel itself along the ground, its poisoned fangs and fire, and its long whip-like tail, for its defenses. Its scales are not very strong, thought not as weak as a Changewing's. This dragon can fly, it just oesn't do so as much as other dragons.
The frills on its head and wings will flare out and up whenever the dragon is trying to intimidate another, or when it is simply angry. Its temper does flare up occasionally, but it doesn't like to pick fights unless its sure it can win. It is also fairly well adapted, as it can live most anywhere aside from the seas and high mountain peaks, and are active most of the year except winter.
