Me and Theodosia were now together. About a day after the ball, me and Theodosia had constantly wrote love letters to each other. It had been a week now. Ma and I invited Mr. Burr and Theodosia to our house for dinner. "You and Theodosia remind me of your father and I when we were younger," Ma said a few hours before Theodosia and Mr. Burr arrived. Ma had cleaned the house until everything was shiny and spotless and bought new outfits for all of us. She had made sure the food was perfect with the help of Angelica and my aunt Angelica, whom my sister was named after. I wore a lavender coat, tall black boots, white stockings and pants, a violet undershirt, and a white lace ribbon. My hair was very lightly powdered and groomed as best as possible, even though it was struggle for Ma since it was so curly. My brothers and Pops wore the exact same outfit as I. Ma, Angelica, my aunt, and baby Elizabeth both wore a white dress, which Ma also bought for church on Sundays. Ma set up the food, which was cooked perfectly. There was half a loaf of toasted bread next to a small plate of butter and cheese, a big bowl of vegetables, a big plate of chicken, a bowl of pudding, roasted potatoes, jam, porridge, and a lot of cider and water. We heard the door knock and everyone stood still while Ma and I went to open it. There Theodosia was standing with a beautiful blue gown, and her father by her side with a mostly grey outfit. "Mr. Burr! Theodosia!" I said. "It's an honor you could arrive, please, come in, the weather is quite chilly." Ma said. Mr. Burr and Theodosia walked in the house. "May I take your coat?" Alexander said to Theodosia. "Yes you may, thank you very much." Theodosia said. "May I, Mr. Burr?" Angelica asked Mr. Burr as she held her arm out for his coat. "Oh, yes, excuse me, thank you." He said. Mr. Burr looked around our house. "You certainly outdone yourself, Mrs. Hamilton. Excellent work." Mr. Burr said. "Why thank you. Best impressions are my number one priority." Ma said. "Shall the feast begin?" I asked. "Indeed," Theodosia said. Everyone sat down at the dinner table. Ma sat next to Mr. Burr, Theodosia on his other side. I was sitting next to Theodosia. Pops sat across from Mr. Burr. My aunt sat next to Pops, and Angelica sat next to Ma. Alexander sat next to me. The rest of my little brothers sat at another table, for in my house the rules were you had to be at least twelve years of age to sit at the 'adult' table. "Good evening, Aaron." My aunt said. "Angelica! It's been too long. How are you?" Mr. Burr asked. I'm assuming they had met each other before. "I'm doing quite fine. And you, good sir?" My aunt asked Mr. Burr. "Exquisite." Mr. Burr said. "It's an honor to meet your daughter," My aunt said. "So it is for you, Mrs. Church." Theodosia said. "Now, you may help yourself as much your heart desires." Ma said. Everyone grabbed their plates and started digging in the food and helping themselves. "So Philip," Theodosia asked as she paused to swallow a piece of a potato "I've been reading your love letters." I blushed. I hated when my cheeks abandoned me. "Oh, yes. I put my heart and soul into them for you." I said and then kissed her hand. "Dear Philip Hamilton, your love is just too much for me!" Theodosia said as her cheeks were red. "My charms do brainwash, shant they not?" I joked. Theodosia laughed her wonderful laugh. "Philip, when and where shall we spend our first date together?" Theodosia asked me. I stood frozen for a second. "What?" I asked nervously. "Our date. We really do need to have one together. Just you and I, hand by hand." Theodosia said. "Oh, um...I need to use the restroom, pardon me," I said and then went off to Ma. "Ma!" I whispered. "What is the matter, Philip?" She said as she turned away from my aunt whom she was talking to to face me. "Theodosia asked me about a date..!" I told her. All of a sudden all the lights in Albany lit up Ma's face. "She did? She really did?" Ma asked excitedly. I nodded. "Oh, I was waiting for this moment for so long!" She said happily. "Ok...she's asking me when and where it should be." I told Ma. "I've been to so many romantic places with Alexander, but I have to say one of my best moments with your father was in Morristown in New York. I know that is far away but, it's just such a quiet, calm place. And if not Morristown, then most likely the garden in our backyard. It's so beautiful and gentle, and it's where I announced the pregnancy for you and your siblings to your father." Ma said. I looked in the backyard from a window. It was coated in a blanket of white, sparkling from the moonlight. "And whenever there's time for you to get together is good." Ma said. "Ok, thanks a lot Ma!" I said and went back Theodosia. "Dear Theodosia, I do believe the garden is quite a fine place for our date to take place," I said to her. She looked through the window. "It is quite beautiful, yes, it is approved." Theodosia said. I held her hand. "My dear Theodosia," I said quietly. She smiled and blushed. "My Philip." She said, grabbing my hand tightly. She kissed me. I could feel her love coursing through my body. I felt warm and happy. I loved my Theodosia so much, and she loved me.
