Her heartbeat pounded in her chest as she got closer to the cold, pale body. The sound of footsteps behind her calmed down her racing nerves as she got ready to investigate the scene, she couldn't help but question why she was so nervous.  She was used to solving cases but something about this case seemed off to her, she didn't know if it was the eerie feeling of being watched or how silent the home was as the investigation took place. 

As she stopped to scan the area she couldn't help but shudder in her boots at a picture that sent chills down her spine as it seemed like it was watching her with its life-like eyes and a taunting smirk that just wouldn't leave her mind and kept her from concentrating. Looking at the scene in front of her something quick moved in her peripheral vision but she brushed it off as debris, not knowing it would come back and haunt her dearly.
