"Why do we have to move again?" I questioned my father. "I mean North Carolina was great, I actually had friends." I never really had friends, because we were constantly moving, where my dad could never keep a good job to support for the both of us.
North Carolina is where we had stayed the longest, that gave me an advantage of keeping friends. " Oh, don't worry Jade," which was my middle name, but he called me that as a nickname, "you'll make plenty of new friends at Beacon Hills, trust me." He said with a smile.
I always hated when he would say that, because this is just another town that we're living in, not long enough to make memories. We had just arrived yesterday and barely got stuff unpack, so the house looked hectic. There was boxes covering every room in the house. My first day at Beacon Hills High is tomorrow, and im extremely nervous.
I decided to go upstairs to my room and do some unpacking to get my mind off of things. While I was in the middle of unpacking my book box I was interrupted by my dad knocking at the door. "Come in!" I said loud enough it was almost a yell. He walked in a smile on his face. "What ya say we take a break from unpacking and grab some something to eat?" A smile spread across my face, "When there's food involved then it's always a yes."
We both jumped into my dads pickup and drove to Chick-fli-a my favorite place to eat. When we got done we strolled through town just to see what it's like. By the time we were heading home it was dark, so all we could see is what the head lights allowed us to see. We were in the middle of talking when all of a sudden we see something about to run in front of us. Dad slammed on the breaks making everything fly to the front of the truck.
"What the hell was that!" I said loudly. "Whatever it was it was big, and was in a hurry." We both stayed silent for the rest of the way home. All that was going through my head was what was the thing that ran out in front of us.
I head up to my room and shut the door behind me. I check the time 8:30pm, I still had time to unpack some more stuff. I finished going through my book box, and placed all my books on the wall shelves by my desk. An hour and a half had passed, and I had emptied at least three more boxes of stuff. It was now 10:00pm, and I was getting tired from unpacking, so I walked over to the shelf that had my mostly mythical creatures books on them and pulled out one about werewolves.
I gently laid on my stomach, stretched out across my bed and started reading. When I look at my phone to see what time it was i realized I had read for and hour, which made it 11:00pm. I carefully place the book I was reading back on the shelf and went down stairs to see what my dad was up to. I found him watching his favorite TV show Friends.
"I'm going to head to bed." I said in a tired voice, almost yawning . "Ok honey, sweet dreams." He responded with a smile. I hugged him and headed back up stairs. I changed into a baggy t-shirt with basketball shorts, and pulled my hair back into a messy bun. I headed into the bathroom to brush my teeth, and then crawled into bed. Tomorrow's just going to be another awkward first day.
Hey guys!! This is my first story I've wrote so let me know what you think of it. I'll be uploading the next chapter sometime tomorrow if I can.💕
