The neon sign that hung above the bowling alley flickered and shone out through the dark night. Niall grinned as he opened the door, indicating for Kaylie to go first. “Why thank you, Carter.” She giggled, stepping past him and into the warm room. It wasn’t big, but it wasn’t small. It was smaller than most bowling alleys Kaylie had ever been to, but it was a small city they were in. She hadn’t even noticed the blonde boy’s absence until Carter called over to her, standing next to a stranger at the counter. She presumed he was one of the workers and hurried over to them. “Shoe size?” The attendant asked. He was quite good looking, she supposed, but his thick French accent didn’t suit him. “Seven.” She told him, before turning to face Carter. He was already seated beside their lane, entering their names into the scoring computer. She laughed to herself and he screwed up typing his name, and re-entered it. “Thanks.” She smiled at the attendant as she slipped her shoes on and walked over to the lane Carter was sat in. “Hey.” She said softly, taking a seat next to him.”Hey.” He smiled back at her. “So who’s going first?” She asked. “Me.” Niall grinned and stood up, walking over to the rack where the bowling balls were. Kaylie watched as he grabbed one and carried it over to the lane with ease. She found herself staring at his arms, staring at the way the muscles flexed with ease under his lightly tanned skin as he threw the ball down the lane. He gaze lifted to his face. His cheeks were naturally tinted red, which she found adorable yet alluring at the same time. His skin was perfect, not a single flaw or pimple marring it. His crystal blue eyes twinkled with glee as he jumped into the air, laughing and grinning. “Strike!” He yelled, watching the overturned pins being swept away by the machine, and new ones being dropped into their place. Kaylie grinned up at him and shook her head. “Whatever.” She giggled, standing up and walking over to the lane. “My turn.” She cocked an eyebrow and held her hand out for the ball. Niall handed it to hear and sat down. He bit his lip and studied her as she turned towards the lane, laughing slightly. She pushed the long strands of blond hair off her face and stepped back. God, she’s beautiful. Niall shook his head. What? He didn’t-no, he couldn’t have just thought that. No way. Definitely not. His eyes darted back to her as her adorable laugh reached his ears. Wait, adorable? Jesus Niall, get a grip. He pulled his hand from his hair, messing it up slightly and laughed with her. “Strike!” Kaylie grinned at him, raising her eyebrows. “Oh you’re on.” He grinned at her, walking over to the lane.
4 hours, 2 pizzas and 3 games of bowling later, Niall emerged from the bowling alley, with Kaylie on his back. “TO A MOTEL!” He yelled, running along the street. Kaylie rested her head on his back, laughing uncontrollably. She smiled to herself. If there was one thing she was sure of right now, it would be that Carter was the most amazing guy she’d ever met. Eventually they reached a motel, and Niall swung Kaylie round so that he was cradling her like a baby. “Room for two please.” He smiled at the concierge, who smiled back at him and handed over the room key. Kaylie nuzzled into Niall’s chest, feeling herself drift into a deep sleep. Niall carried her upstairs to their room and laid her down in the bed, tucking her under the covers. “Night Kay.” He whispered, placing a feather light kiss on her forehead. He sighed to himself. He couldn’t stop himself, he was falling for her. He was falling for her hard and fast. He dragged himself over to the couch and lay down, finally allowing himself to sleep.
