A loud scream awoke me from my gentle nap. My body instantly pushed me out of my bed and sent me running down the stairs, sprinting towards the sound which seemed to be coming from the front of the apartment building. The rooms were all dark except for the lobby, which had small lamps attached to the front of the desk. It was quiet, so I figured it was late. I swiped my room card onto the front door, making it open. The screams continued, but they weren't just any screams. They seemed oddly familiar, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Those were the screams of Louis. As I ran out to the side of the building, my first sight being a silver Porsche, my eyes investigated a bit more, and I noticed a silhouette that looked to be nursing another. I ran further, my mind threatening me of the worst, only to have my eyes confirm it. Louis was on the ground, not moving, his left leg laying in a pool of blood and his right arm to be looking slightly disfigured.

A few cuts covered his face, and I noticed deep looking gash at the back of his head. I opened my mouth to yell, by nothing would come out. I looked to the figure that was kneeling next to Louis, his mouth left open, but she still managed to put two fingers up to Louis' neck. "He's breathing." She confirmed. This was the first time I actually looked at her. I couldn't see much because of the dark, but the moonlight managed to shine onto her eyes, revelling in her strong blue eyes, liquid covering them, and a few tear drops slipping down the side of her face. "How strong is his pulse?" I choked out, my mouth suddenly feeling dry. I put my hands down on Louis' upper thigh, trying to stop the amount of blood flowing from the gash. "It's getting weak." She replied softly, she then asked me to hold Louis' head slightly tilted upwards while she called an ambulance. I listened to her calm voice while she spoke on the phone, her voice soft and pure, her pausing as she waiting for a reply. I looked back to Louis to see his eyes flicker open. "Louis!" I exclaimed, still trying to hold the pressure of his leg. He began to drift back to unconsciousness, but managed to point his good arm to the girl. "She saved me." He choked, before closing his eyes once more.

I didn’t even realise she’d stopped talking, or that I’d started crying, until I heard her speak again. “The ambulance is on its way.” She said quietly, standing awkwardly beside her car, unsure whether to come closer or not. “What’s your name?” My voice was raspy, and I could hear practically hear the tears falling down my face.

“My name’s Becca.” She stepped closer to me. “He’s going to be fine.” She placed her arm on my shoulder. I felt myself truly begin to cry then, not really feeling any emotions, just hearing my own sobs. “Th-thank” I hear myself cough out.

“Thank y-you, Be-Becca.”

“What for?” She had her arm around me now, and I was crying into her shoulder. I turned my head up to look her in the eyes.

“He said you saved him.”

Her face contorted with shock, but we both jumped up and moved back towards Louis as the sirens got louder and the ambulance tore down the street towards us.
