BRING! BRING! BRING!
That was it! That's the bell for lunch, holy shit! I practically launched myself out of Mr. Davis' class. I wasn't even hungry, but I know for a damn fact I don't want to be learning right now. I take a left out of the classroom and start heading down to the cafeteria. I've finished all my homework in mostly all my classes. I had to read for english but besides that, It seems as though I'll have a good, lonely, sad night. Even with having a boyfriend, your night can still be pretty lonely. Hudson is normally off doing some sort of stupid shit and I'm home, alone.
As I walked in to the cafeteria I took in the stench: sweaty boys, nasty perfume and the smell of barely edible food. The seating arrangement was like every high school. Everyone kept to their friends. Only some kids would mingle away from their friend group but not for long. My friends were sitting in their usual spot, at the round table by the windows. The furthest table from the kitchen, and mostly the smell.
The football players, including Hudson, were sitting somewhere in the middle just talking about their game plays, girls, and probably parties. Cohen on the other hand, was no where to be found. Or at least from my line of sight. I don't really give two shits about where Cohen is if I'm going to be completely honest. I keep walking to my friends. We were a weird bunch. We kind of grouped together out of different groups. Indie was the more...stylish out of all of us, in my opinion. Bailey was this sweet little all American cheerleader. She competed outside of school but not on Sunday's. On Sunday's she went to church with her family. Rylee was nice...but she's changed since last year. Apparently she lost her virginity last year to some random guy at a party and now she just thought she was too good for us. None of us were saint's but she surely thought she was holier-than-thou.
I see Indie sitting at the round table with an open seat between her and Bailey, no doubt for me. I take the seat noticing Rylee sitting in-front of me. "Hey girls" I say warmly. Rylee had a twin named Rhodes, but today she was no where to be found. Rhodes never really sat with us but she made an appearance here there before running off with her boyfriend, Hunter Jones, who also happens to be good friends with Cohen. Hunter never sat with us. Something about "ruining his image"; I think he said that to us once. He prefers to be left alone with Rylee's sister and his drugs. Hunter was heavy into drugs, which didn't mix Cohen. He never liked that stuff, unless he's changed. I haven't really spoken to him in a year.
Coming out of my thoughts I noticed the girls were talking about a party happening this Friday night. It was only Wednesday and these girls were already planning ahead. Lord help me! "So this Friday, how about after school we all meet at my place and get ready?" Rylee was talking as if all she had in days was caffeine. She was talking so fast, I couldn't help but laugh. "What so funny? Is my hair being stupid?" She asks, wildly pulling at her hair trying to make it "prefect".
"No Ryls! I'm just laughing because you sound crazy! Take a breath. Won't kill you." I say laughing.
She looked at me flatly, her face saying Really. "I'm sorry, ok! I'm excited. This is my first party of the year! Well, for me at least." I had forgotten that she couldn't have attended the first party of the year because of her sister. Rylee told me that her parents found cocaine, weed and a bong in the car the twins shared. Neither one would talk, so their parents just grounded them both; so much for sticking together. Everyone knows Rhodes does every drug under the sun, so no doubt it was all her's.
Rylee and Rhodes were so wildly different. Rylee has dirty blonde hair with brown eyes. Rhodes has stunning green eyes and dark brown hair. Their looks aren't the polar opposite thing about them. Their personalities were just as different. Rhodes is wild. She does so many drugs and barely comes to school; she's either drunk or high when she does decide to appear. She used to be one of the best soccer players the school had ever seen but something snapped in her. Rhodes was known for being aggressive on the field, but after she absolutely shattered a girl's shoulder, they couldn't let her play. She was deemed too aggressive for the school sport. And after she kind of let go. She no longer cared for sports or school spirit. While Rylee, was a gymnast and an amazing cheerleader. She oozed school spirit.
