With up to 3.87 THOUSAND reads, 1.16 THOUSAND votes, and 16 parts (still being written an updated), it follows the life of Olivia Williamson who is a teenage girl who's dream was to visit Paris, saves every penny she can find in order to make her dream of visiting the City Of Love with her three friends a reality. However, days before her trip, she is forced by her father to attend her step-sister's wedding in South Korea. She is supposed to live there for 60 days.
I think the writing was pretty average, but was still fun to read. The sarcasm was enjoyable and some of the lines honestly made me laugh out lould. However, the main character says that unlike her sister, she never really had "a thing" for "Asian guys" which being a fellow Asian myself I'd like to add would mean, that the protaganist doesn't have a thing for;
Indians,Pakistanis, Afghanis, Chinese, Lebanese, Korean, Japanese,
And essentially,
Billions of people who arent on this list.
I think her step sister just had yellow fever if she has a thing for Asians.
Secondly, it was a little bit annoying when the main character referred to her grandmother as "that old woman" which was funny at first but then slowly began to drive the reader insane as there are MILLIONS of other alternatives.
Lastly, I couldn't help but find the book to have some elements of racism.
To say your not into Asians, or even Koreans is basically saying you don't like a certain group of people by which I mean 50 percent of the world a population, based on nothing but the race of that populus, is just a tad bit racist.
Maybe you're into that sort of thing, or I, just overreacting but I didn't particularly enjoy the book that much. Please font take offencem because this is solely my opinion and I do not mean to personally attack you with it.
Overall I'd say the book was a 2 out of 5 stars and a 4.5 out of 10.
