The day of reckoning as all first-year students thought to themselves as all of them reported to Beacon cliff.
Ozpin: For years you have trained to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.
Goodwitch: Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignments of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... Today.
On the crowds, Ruby whimpers while the other fret.
Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well.
Out on the blue, Ruby whimpers again.
Ozpin: That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next 4 years.
Ruby: What?!?
Nora: See? I told you!
Ozpin: After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die.
Jaune shudders as he swallowed his spit.
Ozpin: You will be monitored a graded for the duration of your initiation. Most of our instructors will not intervene.
Jaune: *Gulps* Most...?
Ozpin: You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. You will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any Questions?
Jaune: Yeah, um, sir-
Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.
Everybody geared up and took their positions.
Jaune: Uh, sir? I've got, um, a question.
With that, Weiss catapults off.
Jaune: What did you mean "Most" of the instructors will intervene? Like some of them will try to stop us or something?
Ozpin: Doubt it. They will be observing some of you...
Jaune: Oh, I see. So, like, what will they observe about us...?
Ozpin: If you manage to survive or not.
Jaune: Uhhuh... Yeah. Wait!? If we don't make it aliveEEE---
Before he could finish his sentence, he already got catapulted away. Ozpin gazed at them as he sips at his mug.
Goodwitch: Are you sure about this, Professor. Sent them flying like that?
Ozpin: Well, it was (Y/n)'s idea to begin with.
Goodwitch: What?!? Do you have any ideas if all of those students will die!?
Ozpin: It's part of their training, as also gaining (Y/n)'s trust.
