the story was about reconnecting with society, doing something a smartphone can't do these days. expressing thoughts through hand written letters.

it was centered around two boys, one who lived life day to day on his phone and another who was willing to experience this assignment firsthand. it was his escape from the harsh reality around them. he was able to log out and try to be his best self, not the identity that was given to him through social media.

he has a strong passion for the arts, specially dancing, but it was shut down by his parents who wanted nothing to do with it. he tried to share his struggles, but he never knew or learned how to, which is why he couldn't flat out tell his pen pal about his struggles.

which ultimately ended with him on top of the school roof, he was tired of his parents ignoring him and his dreams and having no one there to help him, he believed that the only way to truly get his point across was by just disappearing.

until he was reminded of one person, his pen pal who wanted to help him, not because he was obligated to do so, but because he actually did want to help.

his parents ended up putting him in a clinic somewhere where he's watched at all times so he won't be able to pull a stunt like that again.

while in there he lost all sense of time, day by day he felt like he was going crazy, until one day his pen pal showed up and it was like his worries went away, since he now had someone to be with.

it didn't last long however, he had to leave two days later, leaving the boy who was finally able to open up for the first time all alone yet again. but he was reassured since someone he deeply trusts promised him that he'll return.

it never happened.

he felt betrayed, but he figured the only way he'd be able to see this person again was if he himself goes to see him. he did, though he didn't see him the first time around, he learned the truth behind why he hadn't kept his promise.

somewhere along the way he decided that he didn't care about what his parents wanted anymore, he wanted to do what made him happy, that was his passion for dance. he wanted to tell his pen pal the first chance he could.

they coincidently saw him outside the school campus at night, where he was finally able to tell his pen pal he loved him, though sadly enough he never got to tell him face to face that he wanted to go away to pursue his dreams.

the ending was a huge misunderstanding, the last letter he left was ruined, for he couldn't give his final gift to his pen pal who didn't know about any of this, and every so often he'd write a letter, it went on for about two years.

he started calling his pen pal when he made it back to korea, curious to hear his voice, but could never say anything, for he was heartbroken.

finally they met again, after the boy transferred into his pen pals university. they met again and everything was cleared up between the two of them.

yikes. this story was a mess.

okay

this is a very important question & i really hope you don't hate me?

would you hate me if i made a less dramatic yoonkook version of Yours Truly?

because it's been in my drafts for a while & yIKES. it's just sitting there and i think i'm going to throw it away.
