By 270 ac, he had decided that Rhaella had been unfaithful to him and that none of the stillbirths, miscarriages and dead princes had been his, as the gods would not want a bastard to sit the Iron Throne. He soon confined Rhaella to Maegor's Holdfast and ordered that two septa's would sleep in her bed from that moment forth, to ensure she would remain faithful, their father was getting jealous of tywin that he starts to do the opposite of what tywin would suggest. the Defiance of Duskendale where House Darklyn of Duskendale was in trade declined due to the growth of kings landing so lord Denys Darklyn wished to halt this decline. He desired to win a charter for Duskendale, similar to dorne had received nearly a century before. so asked both tywin and aerys for this kind of charter-like dorne but aerys and tywin refused the proposal so in 277 when Lord Denys ceased to pay his taxes, to demonstrate his anger. he instead invited Aerys to come to Duskendale to hear his petition. When Tywin advised him not to go, Aerys, who wished to distance himself from his Hand, decided to deal with the problem personally. Aerys traveled to Duskendale with a small escort led by only one knight, Ser Gwayne, to bring the defiant Lord Darklyn to heel. Upon arrival, however, the king was imprisoned. Some of the king's escort were killed defending their king, including Ser Gwayne, who was slain by Denys's master-at-arms, Ser Symon Hollard. Aerys was shoved roughly, stripped of his royal raiment, and even struck. Young Robin Hollard, a squire, pulled the king's beard. Lord Denys refused to give up the king and threatened that he would kill Aerys at the first sign of an assault. As Lord Tywin Lannister could not attack Duskendale, he besieged it with a sizable host. The Defiance lasted half a year. Lord Denys remained convinced that it was a matter of time until Tywin would offer better terms. However, Tywin gave Duskendale a final demand to surrender the king, promising that refusal would result in the loyalists storming the town, and executing everyone inside. The Defiance was eventually ended when Ser Barristan offered to perform a solo rescue mission. Lord Tywin gave him a day before he would storm the castle. Barristan scaled the walls unseen at night, making his way into the disguised as a hooded beggar, before scaling those walls as well. He freed King Aerys out of the dungeons, and while bringing the king to safety, avenged his sworn brother, Ser Gwayne, by slaying his killer, Ser Symon Hollard. Before the castle's gates could be closed, Ser Barristan had managed to get a horse and brought the king to safety, despite an arrow wound to the chest. Without a hostage, Lord Denys surrendered but aerys had both house Darklyn and house Hollard executed but leaving one survivor Dontos Hollard was spare at ser Barristan request and it is considered that the Defiance shattered what little sanity Aerys had left. His madness grew significantly worse in the years that followed. He would no longer allow others to touch him, and as a result, his hair and fingernails grew longer and longer. No blades were allowed near him, except for the swords of his king's guards, and his judgments became more severe and crueler. From the end of the Defiance in 277, until the sixth blackfyre Rebellion in 281, Aerys refused to leave the red keep. before the defiance in 276, their mother gives birth to a baby boy named viserys who was a very healthy baby but aerys was paranoid about the boy's safety. kings guard knights were ordered to stand over the babe, day and night. No one, not even Queen Rhaella, was allowed to be alone with Viserys. Gifts that came from all over the realm for the new prince were piled up in the yard and burned on Aerys's orders, as the king feared they might be cursed or ensorcelled. When Rhaella's milk dried up, Aerys made his own food taster suckle on the nipples of the wet nurse, to ensure there was no poison on them. tywin hosted a tourney at Lannisport to celebrate viserys birth, Rhaegar enter the jousting and went on to defeat tywin's younger brothers Tygett and Gerion Lannister's to twelve knights of the westerlands and ser Barristan even ser Arthur dayne then Rhaegar was given a golden flower crown so he could name a queen of love and beauty then Rhaegar started riding forward towards the stands where sitting are Jaime Lannister and Cersei Lannister who was infatuated with Rhaegar was thinking her beauty was enough to attract Rhaegar in the hopes that they would be married and would name her the queen of love and beauty but to her surprise and shock he passes her heading towards the royal box where he stops in front of his sister Rhaena and places the golden flower crown on her head naming her the queen of love and beauty which causes Rhaena to blush at her brother and to smile at him in love way which Rhaegar returns to her but Cersei in sadness for being passed over by Rhaegar in favor of his sister also Jaime is infatuated Rhaena is upset that the princess is in love with her brother and not give any other man even him a chance to court her but their father is still determined to have Cersei marry Rhaegar and Jaime marry Rhaena. later at the feast celebrating Rhaegar's victory, tywin approaches the king and the crown prince and the princess then he offers aerys his daughter Cersei marries Rhaegar and his son Jaime marries Rhaena to this aerys says "you are my most able servant tywin, but a man does not marry his heir and daughter to his servant's daughter and son." Rhaegar and Rhaena quickly intervene by saying to tywin "both I and my sister appreciate your offer lord tywin but she is my heart and soul so I have no wish to marry anyone else but her." Rhaena follows her brother example by saying "lord tywin your son is very handsome but I only wish to marry Rhaegar and no other man so please accepts our apology." tywin is angered by aerys reply but appease and sadden by the crown prince reply to the princess reply but he accepts the king's and the crown prince to the princess decision, Cersei and Jaime are very upset to the answer of the royal family that they leave the feast and go to their rooms crying and now two years later the wedding of Rhaegar and Rhaena is underway with all of the great House's present to witness the wedding. also, a man called Varys, also known as "the Spider", Secrets are Varys's trade, and his skill at acquiring them has earned him a reputation for being seemingly omniscient.
