Broken

Chapter One.

Moving to New York was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. It's also one of the best. Mandy and I are on a trial separation, which is not the same as a divorce. It all depends on how the trial goes. I love her to death and I know she loves me but the stress from everyday burdens gets heavier and heavier, so we're seeing how the separation plays out. New York has been wonderful to me, I've taken a break from the stage to settle down properly. I wait at the front door of my best friend and former costar, Sierra Boggess' flat, because she needed to tell me something. She told me she's doing well, she's still playing Christine Daae over at the Majestic Theatre. I heard she recently got a boyfriend, too. I knock on the door another time, but it seems like no one is home. I decide to drive down to her theatre to see if she's there. Polly Baird who plays Meg Giry taps on my shoulder. "Hey, Ramin! How are you? Have you seen Sierra lately?" she asks. "No, I haven't seen her for weeks, maybe even a month. She texted me an hour ago saying she needed to tell me something. I went to her house and she wasn't there so I came here." I explain. Polly sighs, "Sierra started acting a weird about 3 weeks ago. She began to come to rehearsals late and leave early. She wouldn't speak to anyone. Then three days ago, she stopped coming. It's so unlike her." It is unlike her. She's usually at the theatre before the director. "Well, anyways," she continues, "if you see Sierra sometime, let me know."
