The game had been at the end and the last point would score a win and the last person to throw was... Ty! He threw a ball. The ball hit the backboard. The ball bounced but not too far it hit the rim and bounced in, but not all the way. It circled the rim 4 times in counting and went STRAIGHT IN!
The team didn't huddle around him though... they walked away. To the sides. You walked to the middle of the court and was handed a microphone. " I'm Ty Westerburg and a couple of years ago I was adopted by my lovely aunt Reese" the crowd erupted into claps. " My BEST friend Rene has been there for me since we were kids. She lost everyone who supported her." My eyes teared up and I wanted to jump down and hug you.
"You guys know about senior prom right?" My heart jumped and people began to scream. Trying not to get my hopes up I say down and pushed my fingers into my palms. "Well Rene. I've liked you for a long time and" the crowd erupted in screams and I ran down the stairs as fast as I could and grabbed the ledge of the railing. " will you go to prom with me " I ran to the middle of the court and hugged you you dropped the Microphone and I nodded yes crying so much a flash flood warning probably was sent out.
This is completely and utterly the best memory I had with you. I remember it like it was yesterday crying while thinking of it.

Days had past and finally prom had rolled around. My dad had been passed out on the couch as I sneaked out in my heels waiting for Ty to arrive. Not a normal prom but It's my family. We rolled into a limo that held 2 other boys but 3 other girls meaning that girl didn't have a date. "Hey I'm Rene I'm with Ty who are you with" she just looked at me. She glanced over at Ty and pointed to the empty seat with a box of flowers and "In loving memory" written in black on a card.
Her answer shocked me to the core and I stayed silent the rest of the car ride though when inside about 12 girls crowded around me and aggressively pulled me to a corner of the huge party room. Me being the utterly scared girl I was curled up into the corner. " why did you make him say those things about not having anybody" she said and kicked at me. "answer her what are you MUTE!" Another mocked making fun of my deaf mute mother.
She ripped out a piece of my dress. They kicked me repeatedly popping holes in my dress with their heels. They called me things like "fat" "ugly" and "mute" let's just say they also pulled out a chunk of my self confidence.
While re-collecting myself I walked to Ty and begged to leave. He had already been bored sitting and tapping his toes. "Why do you want to leave? Don't you want to have fun" I wasn't sure what to say not wanting to hurt him or start anything with the girls. "No I just thought it would be more... fun" I collected myself and bottled it all up. I regret it.
