the hidden bridge

ALSTROEMERIA

I stared at his message for a while until I suddenly found him typing . I waited for his message and that was what I received "I really am sorry man . I sincerely wanted to be there next to you . it's just that something suddenly happened"

I got angry thinking "what could happen to prevent him from attending his best friend's wedding?I even made him the bestman , God"

"what happened ?" was what I sent without adding another word .

"oh , you're angry which is totally natural . I can't blame you."
"okay man , my shop burnt"

my eyes became wide like really wide and I rapidly sent "what???how???"

"well as I told you , I got someone to work with me in the shop so I went to get ready before the time of my plane.
I got ready and was about to leave to the airport when I found Ashley , the new worker calling me . I took the call feeling so worried and suddenly my worry turned to frightfulness when he said that the shop was burning."

I kept on reading what he wrote as worry took over me leading me to sit on one of the kitchen's chairs .

"I rushed to there and I spent like 4 hours or more with him trying to save what can be saved and when I looked at my watch after we did all what we were able to do , I realized that the time of my flight passed a long time ago . Am sorry man ." he said not knowing that my anger vanished ages ago , that it vanished the minute he apologized and I was just acting as if I was angry.

"how is the shop now?"I asked worried .

"horrible, but we were able to save some of it, so it will be okay .we can bring it back to life ."

I felt a small amount of relief  as I read his message.

"great, but what started the fire anyway ?"

"Ashley was smoking and he got startled when a customer came since I told him that he can't smoke in the shop, so he threw it right in the middle of a bunch of Alstroemeria without realizing that it was still lit ." Mark replied .

"you should fire him" I sent to him feeling as if my anger was the one typing and I was watching from a distance. i was feeling angry for my bestfried because I know that his shop is his entire life.

"no man . he is young so he is still learning.  at least now he knows why I forbided him from smoking inside ." he sent .

I just stared at his message. "wow how can he be so forgiving ?" I thought . it seems that it's not only Ashley who learnt from this accident . my friend is a great influence who is spreading wisdom everywhere . even though am at this age and I learnt from him.

Mark suddenly sent a message "so you forgive me????" he asked and I knew he was worried , so I decided to let relief calm him.

"of course" I sent not thinking twice .

"great cause am gonna compensate you."

I let a breath out sarcastically and then I sent "and how do you plan to do that genius?"

"Am gonna come." he only sent these three words without any explanation to tease me.

Then he decided to not be totally evil sending " I booked a ticket for England for tomorrow . am coming tomorrow ."

suddenly excitement chased anger away and sat in it's place and am still watching from a distance .

"oh well that's what you call a compensation " I sent teasingly .

"of course man that's the least I can do ." he sent.

we talked for a while . he told me that his flight would arrive England at 8pm tomorrow and we decided that I will go to pick him up.
