The night had finally come. Tonight The Warblers would be coming to Mckinley for their face off and Kurt was completely distraught. He still hasn't told Blaine he is on the New Directions and he is petrified. He knows there will be no way to hide it from him after tonight. He's going to see Kurt singing his heart out on stage with his biggest competition. What if Blaine hates him for lying to him? What if he hates him because he is on the New Directions?
Kurt didn't know what to think, but Blaine was more than ready. He was on his way to Mckinley right now, driving a few other Warblers as well including Wes, Nick, David, and Jeff. They all talked animatedly about how well they were going to do and how they the New Directions aren't going to know what hit them. Blaine was excited too, but he had a weird feeling that something was going to happen tonight. He ignored it though, passing it off as pre-show jitters. After all,  what could happen?
Over at Mckinley, the New Directions were finishing getting changed and warmed up. While warming up, Kurt was getting increasingly more nervous. A few people took notice including Rachel, Puck, and now Finn.

"You ok, dude? You look a little pale. Well, paler than usual, not that you are pale or anything like that." Kurt would usually be amused at Finn's shy, mumbling antics, but he was way too nervous.

"I'm ok Finn, don't worry about me." Finn nodded and continued to talk to Puck about how exciting it was going to be to go up against the Warblers. Kurt began to try and distract himself by scanning the room. All the boys were in black jeans and a short sleeved, black button up shirt along with purple ties and belts. Kurt was instead wearing a purple bow tie and purple suspenders. All the girls were in pretty purple dresses that were lined with black around the bottom, waist, and top. But even clothes couldn't distract him from his current predicament.

"Alright guys! The Warblers have warmed up in the auditorium and they are ready to perform! They'll be going first and we'll be going after them. Let's roll!" The group cheered and followed Mr. Schue out of the choir room. Kurt followed behind, biting his nails in fear.

"Thank you for welcoming us, New Directions," Wes said. You could tell he was being less than polite and was saying all of this out of spite, but there was nothing they could do about it. "Tonight we will be performing a truly amazing set for you that we believe showcase's everything we are capable of. So without further delay, please sit back, and most importantly, enjoy." His last word was dripping with venom and the New Directions would be lying if they said they weren't intimidated by his scary tone and cartoonish smile.
The Warblers began their rendition of Teenage Dream and Kurt was blown away. Blaine was a terrific singer and the Warblers had great harmonies. After that, they went right in to Raise Your Glass. This number had the New Directions worried because the Warblers were very good dancers. They finished with Live While We're Young, and it was the perfect mix of dancing and harmonies that made it a great finale to their performance. When they finished, the New Directions clapped politely, but not too much. The Warblers smirked as they approached the front of the stage.

"So, what have you got up your sleeves, New Directions?" Wes was looking for an argument and Finn was the first to stand up and answer to him.

"Guess you'll have to just wait and see, unless you're too scared and are just looking to leave now so we don't show you up." Finn's reply had the New Directions smirking and the Warblers offended. Wes was about to retaliate, but Mr. Schue beat him to it.

"Alright, that's enough guys. That was great, Warblers, very nice. Alright, you're up New Directions!" The New Directions hollered as they approached the stage. The Warblers came down at the same time so Kurt made sure to keep close behind Finn so Blaine wouldn't see him. He managed to get onstage without Blaine seeing him, but he knows his cover is about to be blown.

The curtain rose and the New Directions began their set. The Warblers watched with astonishment at their opening harmonies. They didn't know the New Directions got this good. Blaine was impressed at the powerful ballad that Rachel and Finn put out to Faithfully. But a boy in the back caught his eye. He watched him dance around with grace and style. He couldn't see him very well, but he looked familiar for some reason.
After Faithfully ended, the group went in to Born This Way. That's when Blaine saw him. The lovely boy that had already stolen his heart, was on stage and singing as a New Direction. His mouth fell open upon seeing him. He couldn't believe he is a part of the New Directions! Why wouldn't Kurt tell him? Why did he keep this a secret? And what would his teammates think about him falling in love with their enemy?
Getting past the initial shock, Kurt's voice was breathtaking and his stage presence was everything. He had no idea Kurt could be so...alive. He was entranced by him and couldn't bring himself to look away. Even when they started their finale song, Don't Stop Believing, Blaine still couldn't keep his eyes off of Kurt. He knows Kurt can see him staring, but he can't bring himself to look away. After their last song ended, Blaine almost stood up and clapped furiously after watching Kurt, but he quickly remembered he couldn't do that. He was already beginning to get frustrated about this situation and he just found out about it!

"So, thank you for coming Warblers! We certainly enjoyed your performance and we hope you enjoyed ours!" That signal from Mr. Schuester let the Warblers know it was their time to leave. But not before Wes approached Finn.

"Tomorrow night. The old parking garage on Route 18," Wes demanded.

"You're on." With a firm handshake, the deal was made.

Watching everyone disperse, Blaine immediately looked around for Kurt. He knew he had to find him fast because the others would be waiting at his car for a ride home. He exited the auditorium and began wandering the halls. He rounded a corner and stopped when he saw Kurt. He looked amazing in the clothes he was wearing and the way he was biting his lip in concentration while looking in his locker was adorable. Blaine quietly approached him from behind trying to be sneaky. He eventually got right up behind Kurt without him noticing. To make his presence known, Blaine stuck out his arm and leaned it against the side of Kurt's locker. Kurt jumped at the sudden movement and turned around to face Blaine. Seeing it was just Blaine and not a bully, he relaxed a bit until he realized what they needed to talk about.

"So, you're Mckinley's countertenor," Blaine said with realization.

"Unfortunately yes. My voice is scaringly high for a male." Kurt tried to ease the tention with light humor, but Blaine was too close for Kurt to be able to focus on anything but his eyes.

"Why didn't you just tell me?" Kurt sighed and looked down at his feet. Blaine lifted his chin up with two fingers and smiled lightly at him. Kurt smiled back seeing that Blaine didn't look mad.

"Because I am supposed to be your enemy. I didn't know what you would do if you found out. I couldn't risk you walking away from me, not when I just found you..." Kurt said embarrassingly. Blaine chuckled lightly at his cutest before grabbing both of his hands in his.

"I've only just met you, but I know I could never walk away from you." Blaine looked at Kurt with such certainty that Kurt simply could not process all the love coming from him. "I know this is going to be difficult, but I want to make it work. Because you're worth it." Before either of them knew it, they were both slowly leaning in towards each other. Their lips barely brushed when Blaine's cell phone started blasting Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

"Why does this always end up happening to us?!" Kurt giggled as Blaine groaned and answered his phone. It was once again Wes who was wondering where he was. Blaine promised to be right out to drive them back and hung up. He gripped both of Kurt's hand in his again.

"Can I see you tomorrow?"

"Mmhhhh, I'm not sure...I might be busy."

"I promise to make it worth your every second."

"Of course. I'd love to." Blaine smiled and leaned down to kiss one of Kurt's hands like he always does when they part.

"Will you ever get tired of doing that?"

"Probably not." And with that, Blaine began walking down the hallway, leaving Kurt smiling and leaning against his lockers like an idiot. He giggled and jumped up in the air like a little school girl. He felt like a huge weight was lifted off of his chest. For the first time in a long time, he had confidence that everything was going to turn out alright.

But what Kurt and Blaine didn't know, was that their journey together was about to get much, much harder.
