"Kurt! Can you grab the coffee's and meet me in the car? I need to call the Community Theater and complain about my assigned role. There is no way that girl deserved that role more than me!" Before Kurt could answer, Rachel Berry already stormed out of the coffee shop, leaving him alone in line.
Kurt sighed heavily. He has been feeling really lonely lately. He has all of his friends at Mckinley, but there is still something missing in his life. Not to mention that the bullying wasn't helping at all. Being gay made him feel really excluded sometimes. He received the worst bullying out of the Glee club, fitting in with the guys in Glee club was hard, and some of the girls didn't want him around. He sometimes felt like he didn't fit in anywhere.
Shifting his eyes around the coffee shop, he took in all of the spring decorations that were starting to be put up. It was almost May so the spring season was in full swing. The season was starting to make him feel even more lonely. He didn't have a date to get ice cream with, sing with, or go to the Spring Fling at his school with. He couldn't do these things and it only made him feel worse.
Then suddenly, his eyes landed on a pair of dark brown ones that were already looking at him. Kurt couldn't make himself look away. The boy looked to be his age and incredibly handsome. His dark hair was gelled but not flat against his head, it still had a bit of wave to it. He noticed he was wearing a Dalton Academy blazer so he must go to Dalton. The boy smiled at him and Kurt's heart stopped.

"Hey, kid. You're holding up the line." Kurt was snapped out of his daze by the old lady behind him in line. Kurt quickly apologized and moved up to order Rachel and his's coffee's. He was about to bring out the money to pay, but an arm reaching around his waste with money in hand stopped him. He looked beside him to see the boy from earlier.

"These are on me," he said. The barista went to go get the coffee's.

"That was so nice of you, but you really didn't need to do that," Kurt said.

"Well, you can make it up to me by meeting me here at 3:30 tomorrow?" Kurt was internally freaking out. A handsome boy was asking to see him tomorrow!

"Uh, yeah yeah, of course!"

"My name is Blaine, bye the way." He grabbed Kurt's hand, kissed it, and then walked out of the coffee shop. Kurt couldn't help but squeal when he left.

"Kid, you're holding up the line again." Kurt quickly apologized again to the lady, grabbed his coffee's and left. He quickly returned to Rachel's car where she just hung up the phone. Kurt climbed in the passenger side of her car and handed her the coffee.

"Ugh, thank you Kurt. I really need this right now. The only reason that girl got the part over me is because her mom works at the community theater." Kurt truly did feel bad for Rachel. Sure, she was a bit selfish and self-centered, but she was talented and deserved that part. Plus, she was his best friend.

"There's tons of crap like that in theater, Rachel. But once we are in New York, you won't have to worry about any of that. Director's will only be looking for talent and they'll be blind not to see yours."

"Awe, you always know the right things to say, Kurt! You are the best."

"Yeah...I know," he said jokingly. Rachel started up her car and began driving to Mckinley. Oh, how Kurt couldn't wait to get there.

The next day came and Kurt was unbelievably excited to hang out with Blaine. He has never had an attractive guy ask him to hang out before. It was amazing because he needed it right now too. The final bell had rang out, signaling that school was over. He drove himself today so he could drive to the Lima Bean and meet Blaine. He was putting his textbooks back in to his locked when a body shoved him in to it. He nearly fell before turning around to see Karofsky stomp away. He was silently glad he didn't do anything else.

"Hey, bud. You're still going out with Mercedes? I can still give you a ride." Kurt turned to see his step brother Finn. Finn was a great brother, but he somehow always came too late to protect him from Karofsky. Then again, it wasn't his responsibility to protect him. Finn and the rest of the guys in Glee Club say otherwise, but that's what Kurt believed.

"Yeah, I'm still meeting her, but thank you for asking. I'll see you later at the house." Finn nodded, gave Kurt a quick hug, and then left. He didn't tell anyone he was seeing Blaine. He just wanted to see how this went before he told anybody.
Kurt got in his car and drove to the Lima Bean. Once he stepped inside, he looked around to see if Blaine was here yet. His eyes suddenly met a pair of brown ones and he knew immediately it was him. Blaine's smile brightened when he saw Kurt and waved him over. Kurt walked over gracefully and sat across from him. He noticed there were two coffee's on the table.

"Hey you." Kurt blushed as he looked down at his coffee. He looked to see that it was his exact order.

"How'd you...?"

"I heard you order and took a guess between the two coffee's you ordered."

"That's so sweet! I was hoping I would get to buy you a coffee since you bought mine yesterday."

"Well, I guess we're going to have to see each other more often then." Kurt's heart skipped and he blushed deeply.

"I would like that."

"Sorry, I never caught your name?"

"Oh! Kurt Hummel."

"Kurt Hummel..." Hearing Blaine try out his name made him feel all mushy inside. Blaine thought it felt so right coming out of his mouth.

"Well, Kurt Hummel, I'm Blaine Anderson and I go to Dalton Academy."

"Huh, and I thought the blazer was just your favorite cardigan." Blaine chuckled lightly and leaned forward a bit.

"Ok, so you think you're funny, Kurt Hummel?"

"Oh yes, I know that I am funny."

"Confident too. Is there anything you're not?"

"I'm not straight." Kurt immediately clamped a hand over his mouth. He was shocked that something so forward came out of his mouth.

"I'm so sorry, I..."

"No no no, hey, don't worry. I was actually kind of hoping you would say that." Kurt couldn't believe what he was hearing. This gorgeous guy was attractive, nice, AND gay? It was almost too good to be true. Blaine slowly reached across the table and took Kurt's hand in his. Both of them were shocked. They felt something deep inside of them blossom to the surface. In that moment, it was just the two of them.

Kurt wanted to reply, but he was lost in Blaine. Blaine looked equally as lost. But, They were both interrupted by Blaine's phone ringing.

"Crap, I'm so sorry." Blaine quickly answered, telling someone named Wes he was busy. He agreed to something then hung up quickly.

"I'm so sorry, but I need to go. My glee club just called an emergency meeting." Kurt's heart sank as he heard this. That would make him a part of the Dalton Academy Warblers, his Glee Club's main competition.

"Can I...get your number?" Kurt wondered if he should mention he is on the New Directions, but would Blaine regret talking to him? Would he refuse to see him again.

"Yeah, sure." After swapped numbers, they walked out of the coffee shop together. Blaine turned to Kurt one last time, took his hand, and kissed it again.

"I'll see you around, Kurt Hummel." Once Kurt got to his car, he felt giddy but also terrified. How is he going to tell Blaine he is his main competition?

How is he going to tell his team that he's seeing their enemy?
