Little Wood is a small village like town in Nevada placed in the middle of the state, almost exactly. In fact it was in the middle of nowhere. The town was so small almost everyone knew each other by full name and knew if someone was new to the town, which was rare to see and they all knew the girl, Dawn Winterhale. Now Dawn wasn't new, she was raised by Lydia Hale and her husband Gregory Hale and raised with two adoptive siblings by the names of Mary Hale and Hunter Hale. When Dawn was younger there was always something off about her, she had wings and pointy ears, usually a sign of being an Air Type Shifter, they didn't know what type of shifter whether wolf, cat, or some unknown shifter Lydia didn't care, nor did her family, Dawn was Dawn to them, not a freak, or scary but the town folks thought different. When Dawn went to school no one sat by her, no one helped her, in fact most where too scared to even think about how they made her feel.

Dawn had school once again. She knew she was hated, strongly but she didn't really care. She stretched, waiting for her toast to pop up from the toaster, her breakfast. Humming to herself she took the toast out and began to spread jelly on it before sandwiching it and tossing her purple and blue bag over her shoulder ever so slightly to keep from hurting her wings by mistake. "Mary, Hunter, it's time to go!" She shouted to her siblings. Mary ran downstairs wearing a pink dress and blue dress shoes and a small bow in her brown hair. Her twin brother following her wearing his hoodie, baseball cap, and pants.
"I'm ready." Hunter said silently as he placed his hands in her pocket. Unlike Mary, he was quiet and kept to himself, even around family. If he was bullied no one would know, if he got hurt he would simply say he fell, then went to his room before more questions where asked. Mary, on the other hand was cheerful and friendly, she always enjoyed a good game, whether it's sports, hide and seek, or just a good card game like uno. She was never competitive and almost never got frustrated when she lost. Only a couple times have she ever been irritated during a game. Despite being the age of 12 both kids where pretty smart, not like in math or English but in other ways. Mary was talented using a bow and arrow and Hunter took up fencing lessons and soccer. Dawn herself used to take up an activity after school, before she quit to focus on her grades.
Dawn let out a soft smile as she walked out of the mansion and looked at the white paint that shone in the sun, this was where she was raised. Her mother Lydia working for the government to protect Shifters. The SPC or Shifter Protection Community. And her father, Gregory was working for the army, meaning that he was rarely home for his family as well as Lydia. But when they were home it would be a feast within the Hale household. Dawn looked back at her siblings as they walked to the bus stop and smiled, "Mom gave me some money, so after school and chores how about we go to the store and get snacks." She told them.
Mary's eyes lit up happily, "Oh would you big sis?" She asked. Dawn nodded with a small smile.
"Of course and we can watch movies." She said. "If you two want to do that as well." Mary hugged her sister happily as the bus approached the bus stop.
"Thanks sis." Mary said as she entered the bus with Dawn and Hunter.
When the bus halted to a stop it was sudden and all Dawn could do was hold her siblings close to her protectively. "I hate this bus." Dawn said as she looked at the middle school. "It's your stop Hunter, Mary. Have fun at school." Dawn smiled as she softly spoke to them to not make it sudden and startle the 12 year olds. Mary got up and waved her goodbyes as she left the bus, Hunter silently following Mary. After all the middle schoolers left the bus started up again to the highschool.
The day had gone by like any other day, being bullied, being alone, and soon school had already ended and she was on her way home already with Mary and Hunter. And as promised they went shopping.
This was Dawn's life up until she graduated highschool and became a waitress, living in a small apartment.
