The Incident

I woke up face to face with Liu. For once in a long time,  I felt at peace. I was almost too tired to get out of bed. I dragged myself out of bed,  my feet touching the freezing cold floor.  I decided to let Liu sleep in. He probably hasn't had a good night's sleep in a while. I should take Liu to get some clothes. He'll be living with me for a while,  so he should at least have something to wear.

Since I couldn't cook to save my life, I grabbed a microwaveable breakfast. I found some of Liu's pills and set them down next to the food. It might be a good time to wake up Liu.
"Liu, wake up. I got some breakfast and your medicine." I whispered.
He yawned and hopped out of bed.
"Liu,  I'm going to take you shopping today. Is that alright?"
His eyes widened. He didn't want to be around so many people so soon. He was worried,  but he didn't want to make you unhappy. He only nodded and took his medications.

Timeskip

I grabbed Liu's hand and guided him through the busy mall. I could sense something was off about him. Maybe he just wasn't feeling good. I dragged him into a store that I thought he might like.
"Come out when you've gotten dressed. I want to see how you look."
He nodded,  taking the large pile of clothes into the dressing room.
"Y/N could you come in here? I'm not sure I have this on correctly."
I must've been truly gullible.  I walked into the room without a second thought. I was pinned to the wall,  a sharp objects pressed against my cheek.
"How stupid could you be?! Honestly,  bitch,  it's almost like you're asking to get killed!"
The familiar voice if Sully startled me. He dragged his knife down my face,  tearing away at the flesh. Blood leaked down my face and dropped on the floor. I kicked him. I wasn't strong enough to cause too much damage,  but it was enough to surprise him.
"Y/N,  what happened to your face? Don't tell me... Oh,  I'm so sorry."
I sighed.  Liu was back. I grabbed the large pile of clothes,  paid for them,  and left the mall.
The drive home was quiet. Liu was twiddling his thumbs out of nervousness.
"I'm sorry, Liu. I shouldn't have tried to get you around so many people so soon. I should have thought about how you felt."
"I'm sorry for cutting you."
"That wasn't you, Liu."
We finally arrived at my apartment. I put Liu's clothes away in my closet. It certainly felt less lonely with him here. Maybe Liu could stay for a little while...
