"I loved you as Icarus loved the Sun.
Too close,
Too much."

A creature like me could never love someone. Created from wax and insecurities, no one would love me. My scars were never shown to me, but I knew I couldn't fly. I would look in the mirror and see my wings, but I couldn't feel them on my back. They were taken away from me, a long time ago.

Thinking. I sat near a lake, thinking. I couldn't get my mind off something. I remembered my past. I fell in love with the sky's blessing. The Sun. But when I flew to her, my wings melted and I fell back into the human realm. Until I saw her. I watched as a girl with long hair and glow of yellow appeared in thin air and walk towards me.
"Why are you here?"
I asked her. She walked up to me and looked at me, curious.
"I come here to think."
"About what?"
I asked again.
"Nothing in particular."
She looked troubled and worried. I quickly thought of a good way to continue our conversation.
"Oh, I am troubled too. Please, have a seat."
I gestured as I moved over a bit. She walked closer and sat beside me. I could feel the strong heat off of her.
"So why do you come here?"
She asked me. I looked at the lake and chuckled.
"Same as you. To think. I've been here a lot of times."
I replied. She looked at me, expressionless.
"You must have a lot going on your mind, I suppose."
"Yeah, but I'd rather have nothing for a change. How do you do it?"
I said to her.
"Well, it comes with practice. I can think of nothing."
She said to me as she slowly smiled.
"I do not feel the need to occupy my mind with nonsense just to avoid thinking about what really matters."
She smiled at me. I looked at her, surprised. She was the Sun. The one I fell in love with, years ago. She was the reason I lost my wings. But it was worth it.
But I still had my wings back then.

I watched her slowly get up. I was trying to search for words. Anything to make her stay. I slowly got up and looked at her.
"No! Please, stay a little longer.."
I said as I walked towards her.
"C'mon...."
I gently hugged her from behind and I looked at her.
"What could possibly go wrong....?"
I whispered.

I got her to stay with me. I was so happy she stayed for a longer time. We sat on a hill and looked at the sky. I noticed a shooting star.
"Look! A shooting star! Make a wish."
I said to her, as I smiled.
"That's not a shooting star."
I heard her say.
"Then what is it then?"
I asked.
"Bad news."
I looked at her, confused.
"Nothing but bad news from that cruel person in the skies. He keeps sending me notes, trying to make me come back to him."
"What kind of note is that.?"
I asked her. She looked at it, concerned.
"It's asking for me to answer. But I won't. It's a black raven with a fiery arrow in its chest with the stars traced on it. It has scrolls around it saying "please answer" or "My dear, are you really leaving me for him?"
She answered. I looked at the falling crow, worried. I grabbed her hand and stood her up with me. I looked her in the eyes and took a deep breath. If I do this, I won't be able to turn back now.

"I will protect you."
