Match finished shoving her things into her overnight bag as she looked over at the alarm clock on her side table, which read 6:09pm. She panicked. Today, her friend group was having a sleepover to celebrate New Years' eve and she was over half an hour late! She swung her bag around her shoulder and bolted out of her house. She turned a few heads from spectators as she was hightailing it down the snowy street, but she didn't care. She just needed to get to Pencil's house. Finally, she made it. Almost slipping on her way up the porch steps, she knocked and didn't get an answer for about 5 minutes, but finally Bubble opened the door. "Sorry Match, Ruby found Pencil's candy stash." For a second Match was confused, but after getting a peek over Bubble's shoulder of Ruby chasing Ice Cube with a golf club, she understood.

Match was taking off her snowy coat and boots when she heard someone shout her name excitedly, followed by a surprise hug. It was none other than Pencil, her best friend, and secretly her crush. Match had a crush on Pencil for as long as she could remember and tried her very best to keep it hidden, and nobody suspected her, as far as she could tell. Match tried to push it aside, to accept the fact that Pencil will never be interested in her in that way, but it was hard. When she was around her she couldn't ignore the jittery feelings in her body. But one thing she swore to herself is that she would never let this crush get in the way of their friendship and them having a good time together, and this sleepover was no excuse.

"Hey Pence-Pence, like, sorry I'm late! What's up?" Match said as Pencil freed her from the hug. "Hey, don't worry about it. Everything's a little chaotic right now. You're lucky you weren't here for the majority of Ruby's sugar rush." Pencil reassured her. Secretly, Match wished she had been there to see it, it was probably hilarious. "What should we do first?" Pencil asked everyone. "PILLOW FIGHTTTTT!!!!!!!" Ruby screamed as she hit Book over the head with her pillow. Everyone started cheering and attacking each other with their pillows. It may have been a very generic sleepover activity, but it was still fun nonetheless. After doing that for nearly an hour, everyone flopped onto the floor in exhaustion, breathing heavily.

"C'mon, girls! We gotta stay up and wait for 2019!" Pencil shouted. "It's 7:17pm, we can do this!"

"But I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired!!!" Ruby retorted. "Thank god" Bubble mumbled, recalling Ruby's sugar rush.

Pencil decided to grab some snacks for all of them and they could watch some Netflix. Everyone gathered around the TV, getting into their sleeping bags, but then Match realized that she had forgotten hers. "Pencil, do you have any spare blankets?" Match asked.  Pencil simply lifted up part of the blanket that she had wrapped around her, inviting Match to join her.

Match started to get those butterflies, but she reassured herself that Pencil was just being a good friend. She wanted to kick herself for thinking that it was anything more than a friendly gesture. Nevertheless, Match climbed under the blanket with Pencil, making herself comfortable. "Thank you Pence-Pence, you...you really didn't have to, like, do that!" She stammered. "Hey, I'm not complaining." Pencil said with a peculiar tone in her voice. Match could feel her face heat up immensely. What was she implying??? She thought to herself.

The group of girls ended up watching desperate housewives (tehe nickel and paper from ii anyone) and before they knew it, it was 8 minutes until midnight, so they went to the channel with the countdown. 480 seconds until 2019. "2018 has been great, let's make 2019 even better!!!" Pencil said to her friends, followed by everyone else in the room agreeing. They all talked about memories from 2018, and they turned back to the TV screen to see that there was 18 seconds until midnight! They quickly distributed the pots and pans that they had stacked next to the couch beforehand, and prepared. 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...HAPPY NEW YEARRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They exclaimed, banging the pots and pans together loudly. A few minutes later, everyone had fallen asleep. Well, besides Pencil and Match, who sat in the blanket together on the couch, wide awake. There was a few minutes of silence, because they were both focused on the rapidly falling snow outside the window, the snowflakes gleaming in the moonlight, lighting up the dark midnight sky. With no warning, Pencil put her arm around Match, triggering her heart to speed up to an alarming rate. She could feel her face and shoulders light up, her blood was boiling.

Calm down, Match, you've known her for 8 years, and you've hugged her many times. Why are you freaking out like this NOW??? Pull yourself together!!! Match told herself. "Hey Match, can I ask you something?" Pencil requested, breaking the silence. "Sure, Pencil, what is it?" Match replied. "Have you ever felt something for someone that's...DIFFERENT? Like something...more special then just a regular friendship?" Match's heart sunk. She should have known Pencil was interested in someone else. WHY had she gotten her hopes up?? She felt so stupid!! She felt like crying, but nevertheless, she replied. "Pencil, it's called a crush. Try confessing your feelings to them, and if they decline...they have really bad taste, because you're an amazing person. I...wish you good luck, and I hope your confession goes well!"

Pencil just stared at Match, which made Match worry if she had said something wrong. There was a mess of emotions in her mind. But then Pencil put her hands on both of her shoulders, which startled her, diverting her attention to whatever Pencil was gonna say. "I've been waiting for the others to go to sleep to say this this. Match...for years...I've had different feelings for you then for Bubble, Ruby, or any of my other friends.  No matter how much I try to deny it, you've always held a special place in my heart. Match, will you go out with me?" Match started to cry, her heart was pounding, and she couldn't stop smiling. She hugged Match, whisper-squealing "Yes! Yes! Yes!" in an effort to avoid waking up anyone else. And so they watched the snow fall until they eventually drifted off to sleep. (Sorry the ending was kinda crummy)

I'm sorry for the wait! And to the person who requested this ship, I know that you requested multiple ships, but I'm gonna go ahead and do the other peoples' requests and come back to your other 2, since I stop updating for a long time and I don't want to make anyone wait any longer than they have to, and I have about 10 other requests to do.
