*~*~MAX'S POV~*~*
As the president led Carley and I to our room, something caught in my peripheral vision. I turned towards a door that looked like it was old and rickety.
"What is that? It looks really creepy..." Carley said as she turned around, too.
"Just a room, no need to fret, it only looks scary so people will stay out. I'd advise you do the same." Baylor said in a scary tone.
Well that's not weird at all..
As we approached a room that had a purple door, I had to ask, "Why does it feel like this is going to be a girls room?"
"Because it's my room, Max." Savannah had appeared out of nowhere. "You guys will be staying in my room tonight, and we will take you to the airport in the morning after breakfast."
Well hasn't she changed.. Not sure I like the new her.
~*~*SAVANNAH'S POV*~*~
When I opened the door, I realized I hadn't cleaned up from this morning.
"If you would be so kind as to wait out here while I clean up a little, I wasn't expecting visitors today." I walked in and shut the door behind me.
Scrounging around the room trying to pick up dirty clothes, I found the necklace that my mother gave me on my 16th birthday. It was so beautiful. I remember that day clearly....
"C'mon you're going to be late for school, Savannah!!" Mom was downstairs waiting for me. She had stayed up all night for who knows what reason.
I rushed down the stairs and glanced at the clock. "Mom!! It's only seven!!"
"Sorry, honey. I really needed you down here, I made you breakfast." She laughed.
Mom led me into the dining room, a big stack of pancakes covered in peanut butter and syrup. Next to it was scrambled eggs and bacon. Right next to my big glass of milk there was a box.
I went and sat down at our big oak table, "Mom, what is all this? You must've been up for hours!"
"Baby girl, today's your birthday! Your 16 now!! I figured you would like to have a big breakfast for a big day ahead of you!" I had totally forgot... Today was my birthday.
"And this?" I pointed to the box, "What is it?"
"Now why in the world would I tell you, when you could find out for yourself-AFTER you finish your breakfast," she walked out of the room.
I began to eat, and started to wonder what was in the box. After I was done, I grabbed it and went into the living room, where we always opened presents.
I opened the box to see another box. Leave it to mom to double wrap. I laughed, but then I realized that this wasn't like the first box, this one looked like some sort of safe box. It needed a key to be opened.
I turned the box over in my hands, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do to open it. When I turned it to the side, I realized there was a small compartment. I pushed on it and it popped out. In the compartment, there was a key for the box.
Once I had the box open, I was amazed. In my hands, I had a silver diamond necklace, with earrings and a bracelet to match.
"So I see you went ahead and opened it without me, glad to see it didn't take much to find the secret hole on the side," I jumped at the sound of my mom's voice. I hadn't realized she was in the room.
"M-mom? Is this real? Is it real silver and are those real diamonds?" I turned and looked at her.
"As real as real can get, sweetheart." She came and sat on the side of the chair, "Here, let me help you put them on."
After I had them on, I embraced my mother, my best friend, "Thank you so much, mom!"
"I love you, honey. Now, about what you're wearing today." She looked at my normal clothes, "In my closet, at the very back, there is a dress and some flats. Brand new. Go put them on."
"You bought me a dress, too!?" My mom had definitely gone over the top, something had to be up, but I didn't care. I went and changed.
By the time I got done with everything it was 7:45 AM and my mom drove me to school.
