"Aubree! Aubree wake up you're going to be late for your first day of senior year!" My mom busted into my room happy as ever, I wasn't happy. I wanted to stay in bed and watch netflix all day while tweeting my feelings of these shows for everyone to see, I didn't want to get up and deal with people or deal with their idiotic tactics. I pushed the blankets off of me and sat on the edge of my bed, my mom walked out of my room smiling ear to ear as I looked at the floor rolling my eyes questioning why I couldn't be homeschooled. I stood up and walked to the bathroom, taking my hair out of the messy bun I slept in, my hair was a mess. There were curls all over and it looked like I hadn't brushed my hair in weeks. I didn't want to look like a mess but I also didn't have the patience to try and look somewhat cute today. I put my hair in a fishtail braid and put on a black tank top with dark skinny jeans and converse, I grabbed my bag and walked down the stairs. As soon as i walked into the kitchen it was if there was going to be a party, my mom had every type of breakfast food you could ever crave set out along the counter. I grabbed a piece of bacon and threw my bag on the floor.
"That's all you're going to eat?" My mom gestured to me as she eyed the different types of edible goodness in front of her. "Mom you know me, I don't eat breakfast" "but it's your first day!" "If you mean first day of hell then you can surely see why I'm not eating." I took out my phone and texted Sammy, he was basically my closest in the group.
"Are you picking me up or am I driving to the black hole of sadness"
"You know Aubree you're really descriptive of your feelings. I'll pick you up"
I continued talking to my mom until I heard Sammy beep, I gave my mom a kiss on the cheek and walked out, opening the passenger door with barely any effort. "You seem happy." "Sammy being sarcastic, as if I haven't seen that before"
It was a quite ride to school, I'm not really a morning person, I'm not a people person either, only to people I actually like which is very few. We pulled into the school parking lot and I looked up at Sammy. "Do we have to?" I said, with a non-excited tone. "Well if you want to succeed then yes, come on" he said opening his car door and stepping out, as did I. We threw our bags over our shoulders and walked towards the front corridor where all the students were getting their locker numbers and combinations. I walked to the one teacher and she smiled "congratulations on senior year aubree!" She said with enthusiasm, I smiled to be nice. "Thanks Mrs. Barrington" I said grabbing my paper and walking to find Sammy. Mrs. Barrington was my junior math teacher, she's one of the only teachers who didn't treat you like a dog and didn't give you that awkward embarrassment by calling on you if you didn't have your hand raised. I wish all teachers would be as thoughtful as her. "What's your locker number?" Sammy said finding me through the crowd of people. "120, probably a bottom locker, what's yours?" "137, so we're not far away this year" "thank god" I said smiling at him with sarcasm and walking to my locker. Or course a bottom one, I've never understood why freshman get top lockers when us juniors and seniors are stuck putting 15 textbooks and 26 term papers in a 9 x 7 locker that's so close to the ground you can't even look in it without almost breaking your face on the school flooring. I put my bag in there grabbing my phone and wallet and walking down the hallway to Sammy. I saw him putting a mirror and cologne in his top locker, which I was jealous about. "You can't go 20 seconds without admiring yourself can you Sam?" I said laughing as he fixed his hair in the mirror. "When you're this good looking you have to keep a stance Aubree." I shook my head while looking at the halls flowing with students and teachers. Sammy closed his locker holding his phone in his hand, "we have to go find Gilinsky, he said him and Johnson can't find their lockers" I automatically got this feeling that I only get when he talks about Gilinsky, "I find it funny how they've been going here longer than me and can't find their locker" I said. Sammy started walking, as I followed "I'm surprised they find themselves in the morning let along a locker in a school of a thousand students." He said as we turned the corner and walked past the gym.
