I scroll through Craigslist trying to find any. And I mean any apartments near my college. As fun as it sounds to be free of the clutches of your parents, it's not. Trust me. I'm in class most of the week. The timings of my classes are so odd, that I can't even apply for more than one job as a barista. And one job didn't let me l8ve in my apartment. Which means getting a roommate. I'm going to sell this place because God knows, no one in their right minds would live here.

Nope.
Nope.
To small.
To expensive.
I am not sharing a room.
Is that a tampon?

These are some of the things roaming around in myheadas I look at the pictures. Just as I was about to give up, I saw this amazing apartment. It was in the perfect location. About a 30min drive to my parents and not more than 15 to my college. It had huge windows, making the apartment look bigger than it most likely was. I realized that I hadn't looked at the rent costs yet. I crossed my fingers as I clicked on the more option. Aaannnd, I could afford it! This is Mana from heaven my chickies.

Satisfied with our conversation. I exit the website and study instead.

At about 4:30, I leave the apartment. I take my car to the address on the website, deciding I couldn't wait for a cab in the freezing cold. The drive over is short, i was lucky not to get caught up in traffic. I hop out of my car and take a look at the buildings. Two twin towers stand side by side. It was huge! Most likely 30 stories high if not more.

The doorman held the door for me and I gave him a smile. I asked him which building I needed to enter. He guided me up to the elevator. I thanked him again and hit the button for the 23rd floor. I bounced in anticipation. So far the lobby has been amazingly designed. High ceilings, lights that were warm and not too bright. It was perfect. I could definitely see myself living here.

I get to the 23rd floor and apartment N2302. I ring the bell. I really hope this Shawn guy is nice. The door swings open and I see a girl, she looks around 15 years old.

"Hi, are you here for the roommate ad?" She asks with a bright smile on her face. Now, I was confused. Is this Shawn? I thought Shawn was a dude! And over the age of 15!

"Aaliyah, who's at the do-" A tall brown haired boy walks over from behind Aaliyah, I'm guessing. He was around 6'2, he had curly brown hair, and chocolate eyes. Easily one of the hottest guys I've ever met. I knew my eyes grew a little larger.

"Oh, hi! Y/N, right? Come on in." He asked while he offered me. Hand to shake. He smiles studying me. I followed him inside the apartment. The kitchen looked exactly like it did in the picture. He showed me the living room, the guest room, his room, and then my potential room.

My eyes bulges out of my sockets. Each room was prettier than the next. Shawn's room was so cool. He had a king sized bed, on top of which were black and white frames of concert pictures, tickets, passes, and some selfies with famous people.

He had a white electric guitar on the wall opposite his bed, under which, was a slick black dresser. He had an acoustic guitar in the corner along with a comfy chair to sit in. His desk was spotless.

My room had the same design as his except mine had a huge window above my bed.

Once we finished the tour I was immediately sold, if Shawn agreed, that is.

"So, what'd you think?" He asks, as he sits on the couch next to me.

"It's beautiful, very open, I loved your room though!" Aaliyah plonker herself on the seat next to me. She smiled at my last comment.

"That little munchkin designed it for me," he said nodding his head towards her. A 15 year old designed that. I am impressed.

"You're very talented! Is that what you wanna be when your older?" I asked, she nodded and as simply as that we dived into a conversation.

I told them I was studying to be an author, that I loved books and how you could get lost in them. Shawn told me he loved the Harry Potter series, while I told him I preferred the Hunger Games. He snorted but left it at that. Shawn was obviously a nice guy and I would have no problems being his roommate. I mean he even laughed at my horrible jokes. Like, if that isn't sweet I don't know what is.

We talked about everything, mainly music. Shawn had speakers built around the house. So in my room I have to plug in my phone and select which rooms I want the songs to play in, then just play my playlist. His house was super cool.

When it was almost 7, Karen, Aaliyah and Shawn's mum came to pick her up.

She walked through the door and when she saw me on the couch a grin made way to her face.

"Who is this gorgeous young lady Shawn?" She asked in surprise. I blushed as he introduced me as his friend. She was hellbent on the fact that I was not just a friend and how it's impossible to be just friends with a pretty girl like me. By the time they left I was as red a tomato. But it wasn't awkward because so was Shawn.

He and I chatted for a little longer. When we realized it was almost 11:30. No wonder I was starving. Shawn and I went to a sushi restaurant around the corner. The food was amazing. When we got back to his- hopefully future me's apartment- it was close to midnight.

I was getting very tired. Today was rather long for me. When I suggested I leave, Shawn said,

"You can stay the night,"

It turned out to be the first night in my new home.
