Chapter 2

Continued-

"She doesn't know anything. What are we going to do now," Aaron asks looking at Nick.

"We see how much she knows. Emma what do you know about us," Nick asks me as he lets me go. I fall to the floor and turn to him.

"You said you acted like you were my friends, why," I asked standing up.

"You didn't answer my question. What do you know about us," Nick asks. When I don't answer Nick hits me right in the face. Luckily I stay standing. "Answer me and I won't have to do that."

"I never got to know you. Don't hit me again or your face will be rearranged," I said calmly.

"Ok Emma, I won't. Now take her to the car and make sure to strap her in," Nick said with the smile gone then hits me in the face again. I swing at him and hit him in the eye and I smiled.

The people, that brought me here took me to a car and they push me in. I don't struggle because I was thinking of my escape.

They strapped me in the back of the car and go in front. I didn't want to go with them so I quietly unstrapped as they locked the doors and started to drive. I unlocked the door as I looked at up front. They didn't seem to hear it because of the radio. I only have one chance at this. I open the door and jumped out before they could stop me.

I fell into the woods down a hill. I got a few scratches on the way down but I knew where I was. I was about six miles away from school I knew this because I walked to school sometimes. I got up and started to walk back to school. 

When I started walking, I heard someone coming up in front of me. I hid behind a tree. When I peeked out from behind a tree. When I peeked out from behind the tree I saw the new kid.  He looked about sixteen, the same age as me.

"Emma I know your here. Let me help you," he said looking around.

"How do I know you're not one of them," I asked coming out from behind the tree. I got a little dizzy.

"I have this,"  He said and showed me a star with a circle around it on his hand. "You have the same thing on your hand just without the circle." He came towards me.

"How you know I have a star on my hand," I ask looking at him. I was slowly walking towards him.

"Come with me and I will show you," he said holding out his hand. I shake my head and sighed. "Emma please come with me." I walked up to him.

"I won't take your hand. You know because I have two legs. Are we going back to school," I ask him. We started walking and the ground started to sway. He caught me before I fell.

"No, we are going to your house," he said then I fell unconscious.

Next thing I know is that I am back in my bedroom lying in my bed and it's dark outside. The guy that helped me was right beside me holding my hand.

"How did I get here," I asked. He looked at me and smiled. He held out a cup to me.

"Drink this and I will tell you." I tried to move my arms but it hurt to move, so he helped me. "I brought you here," he said. I tried too get up but he pushed me down softly. "I don't think you will be getting up anytime soon." I tried to smack his hand away but I couldn't.

"I need to get Sam," I said.

"You need to be alone when your powers come."

"What are you talking about?"

 "I will show you," he said it with a bigger smile. He took a couple of leaves out of his pocket holding them in his hand. He put his other hand over the leaves in a swiping motion and the next thing I see is candy.

"How did you do that," I ask looking at the candy that somehow magically appeared in his hand.

"Practice, lots and lots of practice," he said with a laugh.

"I never got your name," I said.

I tried to stay awake but the last thing I heard was, "I will tell you when you wake up." Then I fell asleep.

I was talking to him and then we were being chased. We stopped at the bridge and he said, "I love you." Then he got up on the rail and was about to jump.

I wake up with a gasp. The guy was sitting next to me like before.

"What's wrong Emma," he asks me. I look at him, he's the same guy as in the dream.

"What's your name," I asked without thinking.

"Peter Barns, why," Peter asks.

"You're him." I said getting up and start started pacing around the room.

"How did you do that Emma and what do mean I'm him?"

"Do what?" Then I realized I wasn't in the same spot one seconds ago. "How did I do that Peter?"

"Your powers are coming in and before you woke up you still had your stitches in your head."

"Why, why, why," I ask him.

"Emma, what do you mean by 'I'm him'?"

"You are in my dreams that never get finished. You are there when I needed to get home. Why, why is this happening Peter," I asked and then the room starts to get really hot.

"Emma calm down. I will help you if I can," and as soon as he said that the room gets cooler.

"I need to get out of here before Nick finds me." I said and as soon I said Nicks name Peter appeared right in front of me.

"Who's Nick," Peter asks.

"He was one of my friends but he took me away from school to ask me questions like 'where are your protectors' and 'do you know anything about us?' I don't think he would have lasted another five minutes with me," I said. He comes a little bit closer to me. Now I could feel his breath on my face.

"why do you say that," Peter asks.

"I hit him twice, once on the jaw the other on the eye. He also hit me on the cheek twice," I said looking at him. I could see the anger in his eyes. "I have one question," I said trying to change the subject.

"Anything," he said.

"What did Nick want from me?"

"They hunt us. We are from this planet but they are from a different planet called Poison and they destroy everything in their path. They moved to earth but it's protected by us and other people and things. One of their leaders died when they found us because one of us killed their leader. They promised revenge to make us feel sorry for what we did and that's when they started hunting us down. They try to get us in a big groups but it doesn't work," he said it like it was him who killed their leader.

"Let's change the subject. How long have I been out?"

"Four days and you only woke up once. I am sure you remember that." I nodded my head. "You also talk in your sleep sometimes," He said with a huge smile.

"My mom used to say the same thing," I said turning away so he couldn't see my tears.

"What do you mean by 'used to'?" he asked turning me back to him.

"My mom and grandparents died in a fire two months ago." That's when I couldn't stop the tears from rolling down my face. I leaned against him and we moved to sit on the bed. He sat there holding my hand against his heart and my head in his neck. I fell asleep like that. I had the same dream but this time it was different.

We were on the bridge with Aaron but this time I could hear Peter. Aaron was right beside me. Peter was telling the same story he told me in my room. He explained why he had to jump. He then said 'I love you forever and always'. He got up on the side and jumped. Aaron held onto me to make sure I wouldn't jump after Peter. I screamed 'no' until someone came up behind me.

"That's enough Emma," Nick said. I slowly turned around and thought of crushing all of his bones. He started screaming in pain.

"If Peter can't live than neither can you," I said. I was about to twist my wrist to kill him but something touched me. It couldn't be so I turned around.
