Chapter 3

I woke up hoping I could see the rest of the dream but then I realized Peter was beside me.

"It's about time you woke up because you have school and I'm teaching you the basics," he said getting up.

"There's no school on Saturday," I complained lying back down.

"For you there is because you could have killed me last night," he looked at me but I wouldn't meet his gaze.

"I didn't mean to... it just happened," I said.

"I almost killed myself while I was sleeping the first time," he said it with a smirk on his face.

"Lets just get this over with," I said not looking at him. He takes the leaves out of his pocket and put it on the floor.

"Try to make them float. Focus on one thing and draw power from it." I focused on how much I liked him and the leaves started to float. Perfect, now here is a harder one. Make the leaves disappear and reappear in a different spot.

"That sounds cool," I said and I looked at him when I did it. I look back at the leaves but they are gone. I look at Peter and start laughing because the leaves are on his head.

"What's so funny Emma?"

"Shake your head to find out," I said still laughing.

"Now Im scared," He said looking at me but shakes his head anyway. The leaves fall to the floor and he picks them up and puts them back in his pocket. "That's it for today and it is too dangerous to go outside to make some food appear. You are a natural at this if you can do it."

"Fine, hold onto my hands," I said and he did. I saw it and smile, there was food everywhere.

"Good try Emma but think about less food. Here," He said with a smile and most of the food is gone.

"Thanks, so what are we going to do today?"

"Now we wait until school but until then we will practice some more," He says it like its no big deal.

"Why? You said I was a natural," I complained.

"You know the simple stuff but you need to know about the protectors," he said with a serious face.

"What about them," I asked.

"They are like vampires and I have one. You use to have more than one but now... you have none," as he said it he came closer to me. "They are fast but dont live forever. They dont have super strength either. Your Parents were your protectors. You remember what happened to them... about the accident? "

"So why are you telling me now? I dont want to talk about it you know," I said trying to hold it together.

"I understand that but you need to know before its too late." He looked around the room. "It wasn't an accident Emma."

"What, why would they do that to me," I was trying hard not to cry.

"They need you to be without protection, and then they wanted to see how much you knew." He was talking my hands in his; he was looking into my eyes. "They wanted to kill you," he whispered. I was backing away from him now.

"I didn't do anything to them," I said to him. He started to come towards me but stopped.

"They just want revenge."

"What is their name because I am tired of calling them, they."

"Oscuridad," He said in such a low voice I almost couldnt hear. I must have looked confused at the name.

(I have no idea where that word comes from. I will fix it later once I am editing the whole book again but just bear with me on this)

"What does that mean," I asked but I still couldnt stop the tears.
