chapter 5

Hayley pov*

Today was my first day as an official glee club member but I wasn't sure if I wanted to see Kehlani.
I shouldn't think about that too much kehlani was just a crush.
I was on the sidewalk waiting for Steff to take me to school.

"Get in the car nerd" Said Steff stopping his car to get me up.
"Hi Steff" I said hugging her.
"Ready for your first day of club?"
"Yeah" I said sighing.
"What are you worried about? Your straight crush? Or the beautiful girl of the phone number?"
"Don't say it like that"
"What? If your crush doesn't want you I'm sure the other girl will want you"
"I don't care"
"Just sing and dance like you know and that girl will be throwing you her bra"
"I can't hear you" I said covering my ears.

We laughed the rest of the way to school.

"I'll see you at lunch nerd, bye"
"Bye Steff"

I went into my math class and Kehlani was waiting for me with a seat next to her but next to the window was sitting Blake making signs to me to sit with her.
I decided to sit down with blake I was still upset by what I saw the day before.

"Are you excited for today?" Blake ask me.
"I don't know if the word is excited"
"Don't worry, everything will be fine" She said taking my hand.

Kehlani on the other side of the classroom looked at me mad.
What? I gesture to her.
She just rolled her eyes and looked in another direction.

At the end of all classes we headed to the classroom where the club was.

"Welcome Hayley I'm Miss Reznick" The teacher presented herself.
"Thanks Ms Reznick" I said shy.
"Come on take a seat with the others we're about to begin"

I nodded to Ms Reznick taking a seat next to Blake.

"Welcome to all in this new school year" Ms Reznick said.
"Sorry i'm late" Kehlani said.
"Take a seat Kehlani"

Kehlani sat down with a thin blond boy with his fingernails painted black. They greeted each other cheerfully and continued to chatting quietly while Ms. Reznick explained the calendar of activities this year.

"We have new faces this year and I hope you will feel the best way here for this week we will work in duets" Ms. Reznick said.
"I can work with Hayley, Ms. Reznick" Blake said.
"I'll choose the couples, sorry Blake" Ms. Reznick said and Kehlani laughed

Ms. Reznick began naming couples who would work together, Blake got up to go where his partner.

"Hayley with Kehlani" Ms. Reznick continued.

We looked for a few seconds until I stood up and headed to her.

"Hey" i said.
"The universe wants you to sit with me even if you don't want" Kehlani said.

I knew she meant what happened in math class.

"I don't know what you're talking about" i said.
"At least we've sung together" She said.

I smiled remembering the afternoon at the park we had and I blush. Kehlani smiled back at me.

Ms. Reznick finished explaining and welcomed all the members of this year again.

"What song are you going to choose?" The blonde guy said.
"I don't know" Kehlani said

The guy looked at me intensely as if he were studying me.

"Sorry I'm Troye nice to meet you" He said.
"I'm Hayley" I said.
"You know each other?" He said pointing at us.
"Kind of" Kehlani said.
"Good luck choosing the song I'm out of here, bye" He said.
"When do we rehearse?" I said to Kehlani.
"Maybe Saturday, your house or mine?" she said.
"Mine"
"Great text me your address I'll see you later" She said taking her things to go.
"Okay"
